* AuthorsSavingThrow: In the previous series, Claire's mom, as soon as she finds out Trolls exist, wants to warn the mayor about the impending apocalypse underneath Acadia because the mayor has a duty to protect the city, and the people of Arcadia should know they're in danger. However, the Trollhunters talk her out of it because if the masquerade breaks, then the Trollmarket refugees and the humans of Arcadia will be imperiled by this sudden change in status quo, especially with Gunmar on the way and humans lacking the necessary firepower, [[StrawmanHasAPoint despite the very good points Mrs. Nuñez brought up]]. When the Tarrons find out that Morrando is planning on invading Earth, they immediately decide to alert the Earthan Authorities despite the risks because they know they can't take on Morrando's army alone.

* {{Applicability}}: The premise of the series is about two teenagers who are forced to flee for their lives when a dictator stages a violent coup on their home planet, and get separated from their parents in the process. They wind up in the United States of America, struggling to adjust to an entirely new culture and way of life. Some humans discriminate against them due to being aliens (in, depending on who in the loop, either the foreigner and extraterrestrial sense of the word), and they also meet and befriend one alien who's been living on Earth for a while now and teaches them human culture. Through it all, they try to hold onto hope to return home, reunite with their family, and have the dictatorship collapse. That story, without the alien sci-fi elements, can be applied to any refugee trying to find asylum in better-off countries.
** In the first episode Krel is marked as the king-in-waiting in a public ceremony that was used for his ancestors for centuries, with his father telling him that he did this with ''his'' father. In the second episode Aja is marked queen-in-waiting by Varvatos, who would be present in the normal ceremony but not in this role, and with only her brother looking on, and in a completely different setting without much of the ritual. This has a lot of applicability to trying to maintain customs and traditions after being displaced, to trying to connect to a sundered heritage.

Perhaps they dodged a bullet there, since Jyn and Cassian had romantic subtext while Aja and Krel are siblings, akin to Aaron Taylor Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen in ''Film/AvengersAgeOfUltron'' and ''Film/Godzilla2014'' (which was also directed by ''Film/RogueOne'' director Gareth Edwards) or Creator/ShaileneWoodley and Creator/AnselElgort in ''Film/{{Divergent}}'' and ''Film/TheFaultInOurStars''.
