** Apollo being bisexual was also common in fanon. Though that should never have been a surprise, since he was in Mythology as well.
** Pretty much everyone predicted that Nico and Will would be in the book, but whether or not they'd be explicitly referred to as a couple was questioned.
** being one of the three Emperors was predicted soon after the first book came out. Book 3 confirms it.
** Theories and headcanons of [[spoiler:Nico having PTSD from his years-long TraumaCongaLine]] have always been present in the fandom, no one just anticipated that it would be outright addressed in canon in the finale.
*** And speaking of the finale, [[spoiler:Will the human glowstick]].

* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: There are a number of fans who feel Piper's reasoning for [[spoiler:breaking up with Jason makes her unsympathetic. When explaining to Apollo why she broke up with Jason, she says it's because she felt that Hera and Aphrodite forced them together. However, neither goddess actually did so. Hera created the fake memories not only simply for Jason's momentary convenience (as she had to have known that the Mist memories she created wouldn't last), but for her long planned goal of uniting the Greeks and the Romans, not out of any interest in Piper and Jason's relationship which she never commented on and never involved herself in. On Aphrodite's end, her claiming Piper and it happening right after her relationship was revealed to be fake had nothing to do with each other and her encouraging her daughter's romance was simply that since Aphrodite had always been shown in the series to coo over relationships she finds cute. Not to mention the actual time Piper and Jason spent together after learning they were demigods (over a year) was much longer than the time they spent together in Piper's Mist-created memories (three months of knowing each other and a few weeks of dating).]]

* AuthorsSavingThrow: In Literature/TheHeroesOfOlympus, Riordan got criticized for having Frank Zhang lose all of his fatness and extra-weight through the Blessing of Mars, people seeing it was a wasted opportunity to have a plus-size hero and a borderline fatphobic move feeding into the idea that a chubby boy can't be a true warrior. In this series Frank regains the weight he had lost (while keeping his newfound muscles and height), and Riordan points out that Mars' Blessing was just a form of magical "growth spurt", as Frank's body needed time to settle back to his actual natural girth.

This trope require Word Of God and/or Word of Saint Paul

* AuthorsSavingThrow:
** A slight one for a goof in the first book of the franchise: but Apollo's comment about having a kid with a mortal man offers an explanation on why Grover would suggest Percy was the kid of Sally and the goddess Nemesis.
*** Although, it's not like HomosexualReproduction is outside the realm of possibility for gods. Percy has a half-brother conceived from such a relationship. It had simply not been confirmed to be the case in the Riordanverse yet.
** The Burning Maze answers a question which people had probably been asking since the first Percy Jackson series, which was how come the demigods always still fight with ancient, traditional weapons like bows and swords and never more modern weapons like guns or hand grenades. Apollo answers this, saying the only weapons that would be useful for battling a monster have to be magical in nature (so you'd be worse off fighting with a normal mortal gun rather than something like a celestial bronze sword), and bullets and grenades are all single use, which isn't useful for a demigod fight.
** The references to other series in the verse with Ra, Frey, and Annabeth being in Boston for family reasons are appreciated by those who felt like Heroes, Kane Chronicles and Gods of Asgard felt disconnected from each other.
** Artemis's reaction to her brother regaining his godhood. Many fans were pleased at her showing affection to her brother and showing that she does not hate men and is capable of platonic friendship with males.
** The Burning Maze could be considered by some who took issue with Jason and Piper getting romantic after being falsely led to believe they had already been so.
** In The Tower of Nero, Reyna chides Leo for addressing Calypso as mamacita during The Hidden Oracle after fan complaints of sexism, among other things.

** Well, first we've got Emperor Nero, AKA The Beast, AKA the least-likely-to-win-the-father-of-the-year award, because he is very explicitly abusive. Next we have the fact that that same emperor, in the first book, tied a bunch of kids to wooden stakes and intended to burn them along with the sacred oracle he wanted destroyed. And in another, Apollo attempts to commit suicide to stop the BigBad of that book from getting what he wants. Why isn't this series in the YA section again?

-->Rachel: Octavian, son of Apollo, you should take this more seriously. Even Romans respected your father's Oracle of Delphi.
-->Octavian: Ha! You're the Oracle of Delphi? Right. And I'm the !
-->Grover: At least could play music.
