Townsville is overrun by super villains, aliens, mad scientists and monsters that the girls fight off purely as volunteers. Even the ordinary crimes they stop would otherwise cost citizens thousands of dollars per week. It shouldn't be all that hard to raise a measly $2,000, although admittedly it might have helped if the girls had explained why they wanted the money.
