* TookALevelInKindness: The main characters, Frollo, Gaston, Panty and Stocking, are debatably nicer in the show then their canon counterparts are. This is especially the case for Gaston.

** Madotsuki, ''painfully'' so. She [[spoiler: encounters deaths of both friends and enemies, especially two of her own friends, is broken by Wilford Brimley a handful of times, and gets depressed to end up altering Wilford's bizarre realm to find him]]. To say the kid needs a hug is an understatement.

* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: Is it Frollo's own fault he has so many enemies? Or is Frollo just unlucky enough to keep getting into these situations?

** Ronald [=McDonald=] is a combination of this and ParanoiaFuel. He's arguably the creepiest rendition of the character, by far. He even lampshades it. "What you've got to fear... is those who smile." Followed by him doing a SlasherSmile.
** Frollo's side of the story in the finale is one massive MindScrew mixed with healthy doses of this trope... [[spoiler:especially when he comes across warped versions of his friends who proceed to beat him up]].
** Umlaut kicks off his boss fight in ''Frollo Beats Up Evil Residents'' with some rather disturbing taunting.

** Let's not forget Konata who along with her friends was murdered and eaten by Bison and Guile in Leet Fighters. The revenge she seeks is completely justified (its just as reasonable as Uma Thurman's character from Kill Bill wanting revenge). Leet Fighters not only treats her character as a villain but plays her up entirely for laughs with her character getting killed every time she almost gets revenge. But that kind of dark humor is to be expected from chincherrinas.

* VillainDecay: PlayedForLaughs with Hitler, who goes from a formidable threat in ''Frollo Reads Mein Kampf'' to a HarmlessVillain in his next major appearance. He's back on top of his game in ''Frollo Gets Flashed by a Gothic Lolita''.

* MoralEventHorizon: Batiatus crosses it [[spoiler:when he brutally murders Ib in cold blood. Stocking was so disgusted that she killed him by her own hands. Viewers hope he ends in the Sea of Darkness.]]
