* SpiritualSuccessor: Like it's predecessor, it's one to Videogame/TestDriveUnlimited, as Ivory Tower, the developer, was established by ex-Eden Games (developers of TDU) staff. Even more so as the game's story has changed from a Film/TheFastAndTheFurious style WunzaPlot with sports cars, into a ToBeAMaster in auto racing.

* BestLevelEver: The Live events are large-scale races that have you switch between vehicle types at regular intervals along the track, rewarding you for the time you've invested into each one.

A Level Editor was added in the last major update.

** The complete lack of event route editor compared to its direct competitor Forza Horizon series starting from the fourth game.

** The complete lack of event route editor compared to its direct competitor Forza Horizon series starting from the fourth game. The final major update released in July 2023, American Legends part 2, finally added a LevelEditor, but some people see it as too little, too late.

Examples Are Not Arguable and Cleanup (if they hate a majority of the cast, they're likely not fans of the work to begging with).

* TheScrappy: Arguably everyone except for the event announcer and all but one of the mentor characters. Hiro, the players' guide, wastes no time acknowledging how he'll never stop talking by reminding the player of a certain game mechanic. All but two of the arch-rival are sore losers that wouldn't admit defeat in the end (and the new events don't even introduce them back as of now! Granted, them (except for Hiro) to be irritating is pretty much the intended reaction as they're meant to be hate sinks, but the fact that they aren't given proper send-offs instead of having some irritating, unsportsmanlike last words is annoyingly out of place in the light-hearted nature of the game.

YMMV cannot be played with.

* CriticalDissonance: The Crew 2 got mixed reception from critics, with some calling it a downgrade from the first game, but it got a somewhat warmer response from arcade racing game fans. That is until VideoGame/Forza Horizon 4 came out and won over nearly everyone, critic and racing game fan alike, pushing The Crew 2 into relative obscurity (while still managing to be updated to this day).
