* IdiotPlot: Though everyone should know that hypnosis is his power, Dr. Malocchio wasn't put in a position where his powers wouldn't work in prison, and everyone he meets doesn't panic or fight, so he can hypnotize them at his lesiure. This leads to him escaping prison by the first episode, and seen as fully reformed by the second episode.

* FanPreferredCouple: Prock and Concierge, due to them both spending the most time together, and being the [[BirdsOfAFeather smart but underappreciated members of the team.]]

** Prock ignoring all the obvious signs of [[spoiler: Hotwire]] being TheMole. It's basically LoveMakesYouStupid taken UpToEleven and then some. To an extent, there's also his continued use of his [[TimeStandsStill time stopping powers]] for trivial reasons. He's been being warned that continued use of it ''will'' kill him eventually (with a PsychicNosebleed thrown in for good measure). Sometimes it can be justified as a necessary sacrifice to save lives, but other times it's just an excuse to talk to himself or make faces at people.
** Gadget Gal, if only because [[spoiler: she was one of the few people to know that Dr Malocchio was/is evil due to the [[PsychoSerum superpower serum]] he developed and gave to and [[WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity making the other villains]] in the series, and not saying ''anything'' about it until the climax.]]
* TheWoobie: Prock. He desperately wants to be a good hero and live up to his father's legacy despite the odds being ''very'' stacked against him. He's also an IgnoredExpert (being one of the few people who knows Dr. Malocchio is plotting something), has had a history of bad luck with women, and by the end [[spoiler: realizes how badly he messed up and caused the other superheroes to lose their powers]]. While it is clear he has brought some of his troubles on himself, the poor guy just can't catch a break.

* ClicheStorm: The concept of a band of
inexperienced superheroes coming together to form a team and defeat a villain has been done countless times, and many people feel that the first season suffers for playing this concept completely straight. This is downplayed a bit with the later seasons, which focus on much more different dynamics than the first season did.
