  • Adorkable: Malocchio Jr. was this until he took the super serum. He's still a dork but not so adorable now.
  • Arc Fatigue: Prock's secret ability to briefly stop time is addressed in every episode, with one episode in particular having a villain discover his powers, yet throughout the show's run, Prock hasn't revealed his power to his teammates, even after some buildup on how he may eventually need to reveal it to them. Indeed since the show was cancelled after three seasons, this revelation has never occurred, though it is unknown whether or not this was planned to be a large story element in future episodes.
  • Cliché Storm: The concept of a band of inexperienced superheroes coming together to form a team and defeat a villain has been done countless times, and many people feel that the first season suffers for playing this concept completely straight. This is downplayed a bit with the later seasons, which focus on much more different dynamics than the first season did.
  • Growing the Beard: The second and third seasons are considered improvements from the first to some people, as they focus less on superhero cliches and more on Character Development.
  • Jerkass Woobie: While she's not a complete Jerkass, Hotwire can qualify. She is The Mole and was directly responsible for causing the other superheroes to lose their powers, but at the same time, her Heel Realization and the implications that she was Becoming the Mask with regards to the rest of the team, especially Prock, revved up sympathy for her. Not to mention, having Dr. Malocchio for a dad couldn't have been easy.
  • Tearjerker: In Episode 9, when Prock tearfully admits to the team (minus Muscleman) that he screwed up big time, and beats himself up about it. Sure, Prock did bring this catastrophe on everyone due to being blinded by his infatuation with Hotwire to not see the clear signs that she was The Mole, but seeing the usually optimistic (if occasionally snarky) Prock break down and call himself a failure is very heart-wrenching.
    • Season 3, episode 8 gives us this in the form when we learn about Perfect Man's origin.
  • The Woobie: Prock. He desperately wants to be a good hero and live up to his father's legacy despite the odds being very stacked against him. He's also an Ignored Expert (being one of the few people who knows Dr. Malocchio is plotting something), has had a history of bad luck with women, and by the end realizes how badly he messed up and caused the other superheroes to lose their powers. While it is clear he has brought some of his troubles on himself, the poor guy just can't catch a break.
