* TooBleakStoppedCaring: A criticism held about the fic is that each time Sylvia has some happiness or finds herself in a good situation, she inevitably loses it in a horrific or tragic way. She meets a sweet elderly couple who take her in with their other Pokemon... and then the man dies of a sudden stroke and the lady hasn't much longer to live. She meets a kindhearted young girl who takes her on her trainer journey... but then the girl's evil father appears to kidnap her, Sylvia is forcibly released, and the girl's ultimate fate is unknown. Even something as mundane as admiring Skyarrow Bridge leads to tragedy when a girl commits suicide right in front of her on that very bridge. While Sylvia ''does'' [[EarnYourHappyEnding eventually get a happy ending,]] the preceding chapters are so full of tragedy and YankTheDogsChain that it's tiring to get through.

ZCE. Narm needs to come of as unintentionally funny, not illogical. UU needs to explain why they were supposed to be sympathetic.

* DesignatedHero: Sylvia leaves one of her brothers to a life of abuse and torture because he was rude to her when they met again, runs out on [[spoiler:Alseides]] while he's struggling for his life, and obsesses over a suicide victim... because of how it makes ''her'' feel.

* JerkassWoobie: Hikaru at times, Dilandau, [[spoiler: Vapor, Alseides.]]

** And how does Sylvia know the contents of said suicide note? After everyone else on-scene (police, by-standers, the girl's parents) have already left, the last police officer picks up the crumpled paper from the ground, smooths it out, and reads it aloud to her. An unrelated Pokemon.

* {{Narm}}: When Sylvia witnesses a girl committing suicide, we're shown the contents of her suicide note... which promptly fall on their face with the line "No one gives a [[UnusualEuphemism Hoothoot]] about me".

Can only be crossed once and must be intentional.

* MoralEventHorizon: [[spoiler: Dilandau's crossed it since before he appeared by setting Chargestone Cave on fire, killing many Pokemon. He doesn't stop there.]]
** To a number of readers, Sylvia crossed it when [[spoiler:she denounced Vapor and abandoned him, effectively leaving an abuse victim to his fate... for the crime of ''not being nice to her''.]]

Now a disambiguation. Can't tell if replacements applicable.

* CriticalResearchFailure: The researchers who force Sylvia to evolve use Psychic-type moves to control Claudia... a ''Tyranitar''. Who's part-''Dark''.

Deleted because there is no evidence that the Das Sporking website ever tackled the fic or MS Ted it in any capacity. I looked through their Dreamwidth page over and over and found no entries involving the fic anywhere.

Das Sporking had a field day with how much of a ''jerk'' she can be.

Tastes Like Diabetes is no longer a trope. Moving examples to other tropes when applicable.

* TastesLikeDiabetes: In-story, many not-so-nice characters Sylvia meets are disgusted by her cute appearance and have no problem telling her exactly this.

Not this if not known as erroneous at time of publication. Indentation.

* CriticalResearchFailure: In the story, Sylvia evolves via an item, but it's confirmed that Eevee evolve into Sylveon via Pokemon-Amie/Refresh (or with high Friendship in Generation VIII) and knowing a Fairy-type move. Justified in that the story began in February, and Sylveon's method of evolution [[OutdatedByCanon wasn't revealed until October.]] The author admits this error in the story notes.
** The researchers who force Sylvia to evolve use Psychic-type moves to control Claudia... a ''Tyranitar''. Who's part-''Dark''.

* HilariousInHindsight: In one chapter, Sylvia is severely weakened from getting attacked by a group of Venipede, [[spoiler: and in another, she defeats Moondancer in battle.]] Both of these events were written before it was confirmed that Fairy types are strong against Dark types and weak against Poison types; it is even [[LampshadeHanging lampshaded]] in a later chapter.
** Sylvia's first human friend [[spoiler:, and her trainer at the end of the story,]] was named Serena (not the Pokemon X and Y character). Later, in the Pokemon XY anime, [[spoiler: Serena catches an Eevee]].
