** Within ''Manga/ShinMazingerZERO'', people were mostly expecting that it'll combine the events with the ''Anime/ShinMazinger'' continuity, just like it did with ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsV'' and ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsX''. Despite the ZERO version of Kouji appearing, people were not that surprised since they end up adding ''Mazin Emperor G'' anyway (and ZERO Kouji is voiced by [[Creator/KenjiAkabane his Shin incarnation voice actor]]). But then, suddenly, the ZERO version of Tetsuya Tsurugi along with the Great Mazinkaiser get added (and bonus points for adding the ZERO version of Jun Honoo, even if in cutscenes only), catching many players off-guard.

** ''Anime/IdolmasterXenoglossia'' and "Kantam Robo" from ''Manga/CrayonShinChan'': the former is a HumongousMecha [[LikeThatShowButWithMecha adaptation of]] ''VideoGame/TheIdolmaster'' video game, something heavily reviled by its fanbase, while the latter is meant to a ShowWithinAShow {{Parody}} of HumongousMecha {{Anime}} from a deliberate GagSeries. ** When the ''Eldoran Series'' made its debut in ''X-Ω'', the first entry that got in was ''Anime/NekketsuSaikyoGosaurer'' rather than the more well-known ''Anime/ZettaiMutekiRaijinOh''. Part of it may have to do with a Go-Saurer plastic model figure that was announced in the same live stream as the show's feature.

Given ''Zyuranger'' is best known as the ''Franchise/SuperSentai'' show adapted into ''Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers'', arguably the most popular entry outside Japan, international players anticipated it would be the first to represent the genre.
