Counterpart Comparison is about comparisons between characters from different works, not comparison between different works themselves. Informed Attribute is not YMMV.

* CounterpartComparison: ''Suicide Squad'' shares a lot of traits with the ''Franchise/{{Ghostbusters}}'' films. A ragtag group of protagonists accept a job purely for their own gain, only to find themselves becoming unlikely heroes as they take on a paranormal terror in the middle of the city which is filled with undead monsters. There's also not much love for buereaucrats and politicians, who are all portrayed as inept at best and corrupt at worst [[spoiler: who sweep the heroic deeds of the protagonists under the rug to save face]]. In fact, [[spoiler: The reveal that June Moon wasn't killed with Enchantress is almost identical to the reveal that Dana wasn't killed with Zuul]].

* InformedAttribute: For a movie heavily marketed as, "Cast of villains blackmailed into doing the government's wet work," the members of the Suicide Squad never actually do or say anything particularly villainous. Actually the opposite: they consistently prove more moral than the "good guys" they supposedly work for. Any violence they ''do'' commit is always directed against other bad guys or amoral government goons. Deadshot as a hitman seemed to only target gangsters or corrupt officials, and is actually a devoted father. Harley Quinn leans more towards "quirky" than "psychotic." Captain Boomerang is basically just bumbling comic-relief. Only Diablo seems to have some actual evilness in his past (he killed his family) but even he is presented as genuinely repentant and a victim of circumstance rather than an actual monster.

** The Joker and Harley's relationship invites a bit of this. Does this version of the Joker truly care for Harley, or does he only want to get her back because he feels she belongs to him? ** In light of the more murderous incarnations of Superman and Batman in the other two movies in this universe, it's possible to see the Suicide Squad as more authentically courageous and moral than the DC stalwarts. *** Notably, Batman also takes Deadshot in alive, and even announces himself (rather than just ambush the villain, as he'd normally do) because Deadshot was out with his daughter and Batman didn't want to traumatize her.
