** There's the senior staff debriefing where an exhausted Dr. Crusher is going over the basics on what Odan was and how limited their options are. There's a reaction shot where Worf looks terribly bored and about to fall asleep. He ''really'' should have been paying attention, because his luck with Trills would only ''slightly'' be worse than Beverly's.

Misuse, to quote another user, it’s for “ "for ignored characters with good potential who never receive the spotlight", not for complaining that a certain character was not used in a way fans would have liked.”

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: In an episode where Crusher is having a relationship with an alien living inside of Riker's body, at no point is it ever acknowledged that Troi might feel a bit weird seeing her ex-lover inhabited by a man who is head over heels in love with another woman. We're apparently just supposed to assume that Troi is a consummate professional counselor and understands the extenuating circumstances of the odd situation.

* HarsherInHindsight: There is the usual conference room scene where there are discussing Odan's deteriorating condition and the need for a new host for the Trill symbiont. Worf looked either impatient or bored with the conversation. Come ''[[Series/StarTrekDeepSpaceNine DS9]]'', he probably wished he paid a little closer attention.

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: In an episode where Crusher is having a relationship with an alien living inside of Riker's body, at no point are the feelings of Troi addressed - their one scene together during this part basically amounts to Troi giving her a counseling session, not discussing how awkward it is for Crusher to physically be dating Troi's ex. Also falls into DoubleStandard - it's frequently utilized as a point in episodes where Troi gets a new romantic interest how Riker feels, to the point of being a major roadblock come season seven, when Worf and Troi begin a romantic relationship, but Troi and Crusher don't even discuss the possibility of this creating awkward feelings for the two of them as she's in a relationship with something using Riker as a meat-suit.
** Then again, Troi is after all a trained psychologist and an empath. She knows perfectly well that [[LikeBrotherAndSister Riker doesn't feel about Beverly that way.]] Also, it's a temporary situation that will be resolved soon enough. She's probably okay with it, concluding that she has no reason to feel jealous, and focusing more on helping Beverly.

** The episode doesn't really go into the morality of a PuppeteerParasite overwriting it's reverent host's personality and controlling it for as long as it can. Six years later [[Series/StargateSG1 a different science fiction show]] would portray it as a very, ''very'' bad thing.
