* A lot of the more overspecialized jobs like lawyer or librarian can be this. Since jobs like that are only useful on certain occasions, they have nothing to do and may just wander about the station getting in everyone else's way.

* BrokenBase: There are a few communities for Space Station 13. The main two are the Goonservers and Android Data's servers, both of which hate the other with a passion. The Baystation12 community fits somewhere in the equivalent of Switzerland

Lately, though, Conco has [[NotSoDifferent gone mad with power]], and the others are never close to the amount of people that the goon server has. You can also order ''brain burgers'', which are exactly that: a human brain in burger bun.

** Yogstationer [[spoiler: Traitor]] Roboticist, Dan Ryan fought his captain in a boxing match for his spare ID, won, then beat the Captain up in a bar fight, choked out his target[[note]]the longest way to kill someone in the game bar none.[[/note]], and got out of the station clean without spending a single Traitor Credit and no one being any the wiser. [[MundaneMadeAwesome All while wearing a championship belt.]] To say the admins were impressed would be an understatement.

* LoveItOrHateIt: Because of its steep learning curve and enforced roleplay. It also takes a certain mindset to enjoy it, as your character can be killed very quickly.

* MoralEventHorizon: Due to the kind of game this is, it takes a lot to be considered to have crossed this but quite a few players have managed. Killing the captain's cat or attempting a TotalPartyKill are probably the most common ways it's crossed. Players who ''do'' cross it, tend to be [[LaserGuidedKarma taken out by the other crewmembers quickly]].

** The clown is also seen as this, due to some players thinking it's basically a license to do whatever they wish and get away with it.

* MemeticBadass: plenty of notorious players. Special mention must be made of [[TheMask Cuban Pete]], a former player of /tg/station, who was capable of building bombs powerful enough to ''crash the server.'' His shenanigans eventually resulted in /tg/station implementing a hard-coded cap on explosive power, simply from how destructive a single player was capable of being. Pete is now immortalized in arcade names, alcohol brands, and more.

** Why this is listed as YMMV is a mystery. Ask any server, they'll give you a detailed list of reasons as to why some other server sucks.

*** Hilariously, three notorious cases have been banned from the Goonstation forums to avert this type of reaction.

* MaryTzu: Goonstation had the T.U.R.D.S., which started as a project to make an exclusive elite security team controlled by a whitelist of usernames hand-picked by the admins. [[ItSeemedLikeAGoodIdeaAtTheTime Their actual implementation]] turned out to be an unstoppable army of [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin baboon-faced]] heavily-armored mooks with [[MostAnnoyingSound obnoxious]] CounterStrike guns and an [[ScrappyMechanic implant lock system]] that was imposed on almost every interactive object in the game. The average number of successful traitors rapidly shot down to 0.
