* UnpopularPopularCharacter: Tabitha is, in universe, generally seen with pity at best and contempt at worst, mostly being treated as everyone's asshole boss. Out of universe, her DefrostingIceQueen JerkWithAHeartOfGold nature makes her one of the most popular characters in the game, with requests to romance her ([[IncestYayShipping despite her being your cousin]]) so prevalent the official discord had to blacklist them.

** At the end of episode 3, Stella is taking her possession by the ghost very poorly, and she leaves, acting unusually melancholic. In episode 4, she's gone for most of the day while her friends search around town for her. If Gretchen is still alive, she'll lead the player to where Stella is - namely, [[spoiler:the scene of the accident that claimed her parents' lives]]. Stella reveals that she went to that place in the hopes of [[spoiler:seeing her parents' ghosts]].

** At least up to Chapter 4, you can get one of these per day if you have the right Trait:
*** In Chapter 1, [[spoiler:if you have 'Powerful Build', you are agile enough to save both Gretchen and Duke from the Ditchlings]].
*** In Chapter 2, [[spoiler:if you have 'Keen Eye' you have the opportunity to save everyone from the collapsing mine with no one getting hurt -- which is impossible otherwise]].
*** In Chapter 3, [[spoiler:the 'Book Smart' trait allows you to [[TalkingTheMonsterToDeath exorcize a ghost haunting by you power of oratory]]. What's more, if Tabitha is present this is what prompts her to take you more seriously]].
*** In Chapter 4, [[spoiler:having the 'Hot' trait allows you to snap the transformed Reese out of his murderous rage just enough to make him change his mind and run away into the woods]].
** Punching a Ditchling with Powerful Build.
** Getting away with lying if you have Street Smart.

* SugarWiki/FunnyMoments:
** Tabitha's... smile.
** When you first check Scarlet Manor's disgusting toilet, it is full of cockroaches that scatter away when you lift the seat. If you have the 'Talk to Animals' trait, you can hear one of them screaming "Scram, fellas! The jig is up!"
** Certain special trait choices can lead you to humorous results. Having Hot, for example, can make some characters get flustered.
** Every time you use Talk to Animals, the characters' reactions around you vary from annoyance, to eventually believing you. Having a seemingly one-sided conversation with [[spoiler: the mayor]] has everyone in the room confoundedly bewildered.
** Try telling Stella you died on night 1.
** Staying at Stella's at the end of episode 1 can lead to one of these the morning after. When Tabitha visits to take you home, you have the option to saunter out half-dressed and tease Tabby for being "just jealous of [your] game".
** Teasing Tabby about getting a joint if you have Street Smart - even Sybil joins in if you continue in the store.
** After several episodes of buildup, the reveal that the town pariah Pastor Daniel [[spoiler:can also talk to animals]] is this if you have the same trait.
** If you have the 'Talk to Animals' trait and visit Pastor Daniel, you may find out that his alpacas are Catholic. Somehow.
** Sometimes the achievements' whimsical names are a source of dark humor. Seeing "Cousin Bonding Time" pop up in your screen corner just as [[spoiler:Tabitha burns the still-alive, mangled body that used to be Reese]] is going to crack you up if it doesn't disturb you (or perhaps even if it does).

* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments:
** Stella is the first friendly person you encounter during your stay, and it shows with her treating you to the diner and inviting you to go with her and meet her friends during the week - all despite having just met you.
** Winnie, Avery's aunt, treats you with a free coffee and biscuit as condolences for your aunt.
** You and Stella getting to know each other before the hunt lets you have the option of opening up a bit about your and Stella's living situations and consoling each other.
** Avery still cares for the plants that were given to them.
** Tabitha choosing to [[spoiler: open up to you in episode 3 can lead her to openly say that she's happy that you're here if your relationship with her is good]].
*** Tabby's [[spoiler: real smile]].

* NightmareFuel: Considering the genre of the game, it's no wonder it has a fair share of these.
** The encounter with Bus Guy serves as the introduction to the general atmosphere of the story. It opens up with you waking up from a nap while riding a bus to visit your estranged cousin. A bug-eyed smiling stranger sitting just across from you has been talking to you even before your nap, telling you a story of how he and his friends used to push joggers into the water as a prank. One of them somehow ended up being his girlfriend. Bus Guy then confesses to you that when she tried to break up with him, he was angry enough to have seriously thought about killing her, though he claims that he wouldn't actually ever go that far. Then, he immediately tells you that she is giving birth right now and he would rather not show up for it.
*** It doesn't help that he's ''real''. As the Trivia section says, this is based on a real life encounter the creators had with their own Bus Guy. This scene serves to showcase the tone of the story: going from silly moments and then racing a hundred beats per minute into NightmareFuel territory real fast.
** After your cousin goes off to work, it's possible to unlock the forbidden wing if you have the Street Smart trait. The door opens to an even more dilapidated part of the estate with cracked walls, dust, and a stack of furniture preventing you from further exploration... unless you have Powerful Build as part of your combo. Someone or ''something'' is playing piano in the distance. Choosing to pursue the sound has you put away the furniture from blocking your path. You enter. The music stops. You see a pair of eyes staring at you from the shadow. It vanishes.
** The climax of the first episode is your first encounter with Ditchlings. You don't know what they are and neither does your fellow cryptid hunter. They're whispering... something. [[spoiler: If you have both Mystical and Talk To Animals on, you can make out words that are warning you to go away; from what is unknown.]] Duke is eager to avenge Bertie. Gretchen is tugging away at her leash. You have to choose. [[spoiler: Powerful Build lets you save both, at least.]]
** You and Stella get away from the scene. You can choose to go along with Stella to find out more about the creatures by visiting her friend's house or immediately go back to the estate. Either way doesn't matter because you still get a surprise greeting from another man you've never met.
** In the next episode, if you chose to stay at the estate, you do your daily routine - including checking the view outside your window. You could've sworn you saw something in the garden.
** In Episode 3, your ghost hunting party discovers a hatch hidden underneath the carpet in Rosalina's room. Once it's opened, all hell breaks loose. You (and potentially Tabitha) are forced into various rooms where you are menaced by your possessed friends, who have their bodies twisted in unnatural ways. Worse yet, once Sybil rescues you, you can confirm with your friends that [[AndIMustScream they were conscious throughout the entire ordeal]].
** Episode 4 has a flashback to the day of the accident that [[spoiler:killed Stella's parents]]. The large truck comes barrelling around the corner. When Stella wakes up, she looks toward the front seat... [[spoiler:revealing that both of her parents have been [[OffWithHisHead decapitated]].]]

** The encounter with Bus Guy serves as the introduction to the general atmosphere of the story. It opens up with you waking up from a nap while riding a bus to visit your estranged cousin. A stranger sitting just across you has been talking to you even before your nap, telling you a story of how he and his friends used to push joggers off to the water as a prank. One of them somehow ended up being his girlfriend.
