* HilariousInHindsight: Just try and play the part in So Long, My Love where the Star Division members are confronted by their dark selves without thinking of VideoGame/Persona4.

Zero Context Examples. Misuse: These scenes are only significant to people who have played the game.

* SugarWiki/DevelopmentHeaven: The English localization is said have been NIS America's biggest undertaking to date. To start, more than 70,000 lines of written dialogue and 10,000 voice samples had to be translated, which was far greater than any other localization in their history. A Wii port was commissioned to Idea Factory just for the North American release. To somewhat minimize the inevitable SubbingVersusDubbing debate, the game's first run shipped with two discs for the [=PS2=] version, one containing the English dub and the other with the original Japanese audio (both otherwise containing the same game). Subsequent shipments, if any, would only contain the English audio disk; but given how large the voice data is that two dubs apparently couldn't be included on one disc, they could have easily left out one or the other entirely to begin with. In addition, Woolseyism some names were changed in the dub, but the original names are preserved in text in the Japanese version, rather than simply sharing the same script. It speaks to NIS America's faith in the American VideoGame/SakuraWars fanbase that all of this effort was for a then-five-year-old game that consists mostly of DatingSim segments, a genre that had very little following in the Western market. Shame that Creator/Sega couldn't be bothered to bring it over themselves.

* MagnificentBastard:
** UsefulNotes/OdaNobunaga is a fierce demon lord whose might and strategic cunning has pushed New York into near complete conquest. A former Imperial general turned demon, Nobunaga in the past nearly destroyed and ruled over Japan until he was sealed away by the Five Ring Warriors. Having anticipated all of this, Nobunaga entrusts a plan to revive him to his most loyal servant Ranmaru. Upon reawakening, Nobunaga plunges New York into demonic hellscape using his sheer power and tactics with the demon army, even crippling the Combat Revue with a clever trap by sacrificing Ranmaru to eliminate Shinya. When Shinya returns and leads the group into the final battle against him, Nobunaga faces them with all head on, nearly winning multiple times through his many strategies and unyielding will, till the end and upon defeat graciously accepts a deal with Shinya to view the world in his eyes, giving him a chance to prove Nobunaga's brutal views wrong.
** Ranmaru is the most faithful servant of Nobunaga who, through his wit, was able to manipulate all sides in bringing back his beloved master. As the leader of Nobunaga's guard, Ranmaru leads his group into spreading chaos all over New York, unbeknownst to the New York Combat Revue, in a ploy to complete Nobunaga's prophecy. Preparing it for years in advance, Ranmaru is able to manipulate his allies and enemies alike into accomplishing his goal, even nearly defeating the entire Combat Revue, putting Ratchet out of commission and almost electrifying them all to death before faking surrender to work in the shadows. With his master's return, Ranmaru leads the charge to his invasion, nearly trapping the Combat Revue in a dark vortex. Faking his death again, Ranmaru ambushes Shinya and sacrifices himself so his master can eliminate him, dying praising his lord.

* EndingFatigue: Chapter 8 is long, very long, and consists of no less than three major battles that are lengthy in their own rights with the first one of them being the most difficult. Players who initially stated their interests in obtaining every ending or playing NewGamePlus said they changed their minds after realizing they'd have to do Chapter 8 again every time.

In light of PSW's release, removing Harsher In Hindsight entry since they've been sealed in the Phantom Capital.

* HarsherInHindsight: The final group shot of the New York Combat Revue at the end of the game can be heartbreaking to watch given the backstory of VideoGame/ShinSakuraWars involves all of the original combat revues being wiped out during the Great Demon War.

* ThatOneLevel: The first fight of chapter 8 brings with it a huge DifficultySpike for the endgame. You have to defend the Ahab's engines from wave after wave of enemies until it rises to a certain altitude. There's very little room for error as said engines don't have much health at all and since it's a combination of both land and flight combat, you're going to have to spread your units very thin.
