** First off, Evil Genius is one of those fans who fall into the "they should be ninjas!" camp, finding some of the {{Shonen}} elements of {{Canon}} off putting.

** Hyuuga Hiashi remains his aloof self, but has role in the lives of many of the characters that is a welcome change from how many use him. [[spoiler: He's in fact responsible for Naruto in regards to the council that oversees Shinobi clans, and it's hinted his benevolent blind eye is why Naruto hasn't gotten more flack for his pranks, much less the "he's a demon" or false accusation complaints. He's also sadly considering his planned match of his eldest daughter with Naruto might not be the best. Yes. He's a [[PortmanteauCoupleName Naruhina]] [[{{Shipping}} Shipper]]]]
** Council of doom? ''Heavily {{Spork}}ed''. The Hokage's old team mates are, like the Hokage and others, just trying to do what they think is best.

** Hinata's crush on Naruto is shown as rather unhealthy for the ShrinkingViolet.
* CrowningMomentOfFunny: No warning as to when, but again, Best. Gai. Lee. Scene. EVER. In. A. Fic.

* CharacterDerailment: The author somehow manages to forget that Part I Sasuke actually had the best teamwork on Team 7, and the fact that he repeatedly offered to sacrifice himself for his friends there. He is thus bashed for his lack of teamwork skills. [[RonTheDeathEater Somehow]].
** He is also bashed for being "emo", because apparently being horrifically [[MindRape Mind Raped]] by your older brother is not a good justification for being focused on a specific goal and somewhat antisocial.
** Also, Zabuza and Haku somehow get derailed into Naruto's therapists. The author somehow handwaves the fact that Zabuza is a bastard who murdered an entire graduating class (made up of '''children''') in the Hidden Mist, and cut straight through Haku for a simple opportunity to kill Kakashi in canon. There is also the fact that Zabuza is somehow a "kind" and "caring" man who is actually just horribly misunderstood and has a gruff exterior. [[DracoInLeatherPants Somehow]].
** And don't forget how the "abuse" that Naruto faced in canon has somehow been turned up by around a hundred degrees. [[SympatheticSue Somehow]].
