* HeroBall: In "Facing The Past" after gaining new powers after MonsterOfTheWeek Magnetox confiscated the other Rangers' powers except for Karone's, for some reason, Leo offers the monster a chance to surrender and leave. This is pure stupidity because if the monster had been GenreSavvy, he could have escaped with the other Rangers' powers. Luckily for Leo, the monster was arrogant enough to try his luck and got blasted to kingdom come.

* DracoInLeatherPants: Because of her EvilIsSexy design, love for her father, and CharacterDevelopment training under Villamax, Trakeena is one of the season's most popular characters despite how ruthless and petty she can be even before absorbing Deviot's worst traits. Plenty of fans believe she isn't ''too'' evil and wish she'd been redeemed.

* EvilIsSexy: Trakeena. Leo and Damon even admit while being tied together they think she's attractive.

* FanPreferredCouple: As many episodes hinted early on that Leo and Kendrix were attracted to each other, there has been more than one fan fiction written that gives them a RelationshipUpgrade. Supported by the original plan being to pair them together before [[spoiler: Kendrix had to be killed off]]. Leo gets ShipTease with Karone too, but that pairing is less popular (presumably allowing for Karone to be paired up with Zhane from ''In Space'').
* FanPreferredCutContent: ** While Karone [[spoiler: joining the team as a replacement Pink Ranger was a development most fans liked, especially since it fulfilled the character's wish to become a Ranger]], there are some who would have preferred to see how the [[WhatCouldHaveBeen original plan of Cassie]] joining the team instead panned out. Especially since she would be TheAtoner for [[spoiler: Kendrix's sacrifice which could have led to an emotionally gripping arc]]. Likewise having a veteran Ranger with more experience than the rest of the team could have led to some interesting shakeups to the established dynamics.

** Should this series be counted as a part of the Zordon Era? Proponents of the idea note that Alpha 6, [=DECA=], and Karone being major supporting characters and Zordon being implied to be the one who planted Quasar Sabers results in the show being too linked to the prior seasons to truly be a fresh start, with this camp citing ''Series/PowerRangersLightSpeedRescue'' as the first standalone season. Others however feel this season can't be part of the Zordon Era due to the initial team being brand new characters, with this series ArcVillian having no affiliation to the [[GreaterScopeVillian United Allience of Evil]] and cite [[TheMentor Zordon]] having been KilledOffForReal during ''In Space'' as strong enough reasons to not count this season under the same umbrella as the first six seasons,
* ContinuityLockout:

* BrokenBase: It used to be known as one of the best Power Rangers seasons at the time when it first aired but fans becoming more aware of its flaws and having [[Series/PowerRangersTimeForce more]] [[Series/PowerRangersDinoThunder popular]] [[Series/PowerRangersSPD seasons]] [[Series/PowerRangersRPM since]] leaves ''Lost Galaxy'' in a strange middle ground, considered better than [[SoOkayItsAverage average]] but not well liked enough to be a fan favorite. That said, it does still have many fans who consider it to be one of the best seasons of the show, likely due to it having a slightly darker tone than most of the subsequent iterations, and certain characters with their own followings in fandom.

* FanPreferredCutContent: Some fans would like to see the already filmed episode in which Cassie from ''In Space'' would join the team, described as "''Film/AirForceOne'' on the Megaship" to see how she would have fit in with this season.

* LikeYouWouldReallyDoIt: Yes, this is the first--and thus far ''only'' season--to show us the onscreen death of a Power Ranger. Yes, it was caused by RealLifeWritesThePlot, but after 6 previous seasons where Rangers would survive every attack thrown at them, even when they were unmorphed, it came completely out of left field.

** While Karone joining the team as a replacement Pink Ranger was a development most fans liked, especially since it fulfilled the character's wish to become a Ranger, there are some who would have liked to see how the original plan of Cassie joining the team instead panned out. Especially since she would be TheAtoner for [[spoiler: Kendrix's sacrifice]] and how she developed along those lines - likewise as a veteran Ranger with more experience.

** Deviot's cunning and manipulative acts make him the best example of TheStarscream in the franchise.

** The rest of the CGI doesn't fare much better either. Most glaringly with the digital version of the Terra Venture that looks low-res and untextured compared to its model counterpart. Some of the ropey CGi, like those regarding the Zords, can be attributed to [[Series/SeijuuSentaiGingaman the original source material]], as ''Gingaman'' was one of the first Sentai to use CGI extensively.

* {{Narm}}: Mike's death in the first episode is a very well done, emotional scene...until Damon starts shouting his name, looking just as distraught as the others, despite having no idea who Mike is.

* FanPreferredCouple: As many episodes hinted early on that Leo and Kendrix were attracted to each other, there have been more than one fan fictions written where TheyDo. Supported by the original plan being to pair them together before [[spoiler: Kendrix had to be killed off]]. ** The compositing can look quite terrible at points. This is most visible during "An Evil Game" when Leo manages to escape from Trakeena, where the insertion of the various elements look extra blurry and hard to make out. A similar issue occurs in "Journey's End, Part 2" with the blown up Stratoforce Megazord and the flames and sand surrounding it having obvious fringing around the outlines.

* AuthorsSavingThrow: Psycho Pink was the first Psycho Ranger to be defeated in ''In Space'', with only one episode in which she was in focus. "The Power of Pink" got more mileage out of her character by having her be the only Psycho to survive, and even succeed in [[spoiler: causing the death of a Power Ranger]].

* CompleteMonster: [[MeaningfulName Deviot]], in a show full of [[EvenEvilHasStandards villains with standards]], had none. He was a [[ManipulativeBastard manipulative]], treacherous [[TheStarscream Starscream]] who would cheerfully throwaway his men's lives, thought brainwashing was a useful tool, and had no loyalty to anyone. When Scorpius wouldn't allow him to enter the cocoon, Deviot arranged for his death. When [[BigBad Trakeena]], and not he, inherited control of the army, he sends two of his men to kill her; when she survives the assassination attempt, he kills the assassins to cover his tracks. He later brainwashed Loyax into fighting the Rangers, leading to his death as well. Deviot then ambushes Trakeena, forces her into the cocoon, and is absorbed and killed by her. The absorption drives Trakeena completely over the edge, leading her to murder her mentor, Villimax, and use her Stingwingers as suicide bombers. Totally untrustworthy, and out only for himself, Deviot proved that on his own, or influencing Trakeena upon his doom, he could do more damage than any other villain in ''Lost Galaxy''.

* SignatureScene: [[spoiler: Kendrix's HeroicSacrifice both for in ''and'' out of universe reasons.]]
