* ThatOneBoss: While Space Boyfriend was just a WakeUpCallBoss to teach the player to use both the Emotion and Follow-Up systems, his ex-wife Sweetheart ''is much worse''. She already begins the fight with Happy, so you'd expect to use Omori's Sad Poem to make her Sad and make someone Angry to deal damage to her until the fight's over, right? ''Wrong''. That's what she wants you to do at the beginning of the fight. Once her HP starts going down, she becomes permanently Happy for the rest of the fight. To makes matters worse, her Laugh attack not only deals a massive ammount of damage, but causes Angry to everyone during the fight. And since Happy is strong against Angry, expect to take 80 to 100 damage for the rest of the fight. Made someone Sad to deal with her and increase your defense against her attacks? Too bad, you're Angry now! Oh, and once you take half of her HP off, she increases her Happy status to Ecstatic and Manic, meaning she's much stronger to anyone who's Angry in the party. [[SarcasmMode Have fun!]]

* EnjoyTheStorySkipTheGame: Surprisingly averted. Typically, horror games made in RPG Maker have basic battle systems that feels like an afterthought, if not included in the game at all. However, ''Omori's'' unique take on a battle system that's also surprisingly challenging goes against that mold.

** The "Download Window" boss is one to Internet Explorer and its horrid speed, as the boss takes a few turns to attack the party.

It wants you to master both mechanics at the very start of the game until the very end, as most enemies can deal massive amounts of damage ''from the first area alone''. And that's not even mentioning the boss fights.

* AndYouThoughtItWouldFail: After six years in development, the struggle to move the game from RPG Maker VX to MV, the cancellation of the UsefulNotes/Nintendo3DS version and the lack of communication between developers and backers, many expected the game to be the next ''VideoGame/MightyNo9'': another broken game and another Kickstarter failure that didn't deliver what it was promised. Thankfully this wasn't the case: the game came out on Christmas Day, and it got a lot of positive reception from backers and players alike.
