* StrawmanHasAPoint-BrokenAesop: The whole lesson of the episode is to not worry so much about an uncertain future, but given the specific events of the plot, Twilight seemingly receiving [[OminousMessageFromTheFuture a dire warning from the future]], her actions for the majority of the episode are arguably very rational. It's one thing to just be [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS2E3LessonZero worrying for little reason]] but Twilight this time actually had what seemed to be good evidence that something bad was on the way, and taking action to try and avert disaster is exactly what you would expect the protagonist to do in this kind of situation. Additionally, we do see Twilight and company fixing some obvious safety issues during the montage, which they may not have done if the time travel never occured, and considering the [[StableTimeLoop time travel mechanics at play]], it possibly could have been [[TimeParadox VERY BAD]] for Twilight to not have acted exactly as she did, and kept the loop stable.

* WhatAnIdiot: Twilight shouldn't have used her telescope in the daytime, much less trusted Pinkie to calibrate it for her. This leads to Twilight needing to wear an eyepatch after she accidentally looks at the sun through it.

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: Many fans were expecting [[EnsembleDarkhorse Doctor Whooves]] to do something special in this episode, even if it was just a FunnyBackgroundEvent. He shows up, but only to act as a normal background pony. He could be maintaining his cover (how funny would it have been to give him shifty, nervous eyes during the scene in question?) but in all likelihood the studio probably thought they reached their [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS2E15TheSuperSpeedyCiderSqueezy6000 Doctor Whooves nod quota]] for the season and don't want to over do it.

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: ** Twilight's very statement that another version of her is impossible. Now, let's travel to the future, shall we? There, we'll find this little AlternateUniverse franchise called ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyEquestriaGirls''...
