Since Sunset used to be a bully, Wallflower could have kept some parts of her backstory intact and have her be made as [[BullyMagnet the character that Sunset bullied the most all the time]]. Which would not only give her a more justified reason into hating Sunset and thinking she hasn't really changed, but it would also have a bigger expansion on what Sunset's bullying has done to other people besides the Humane Six and also make Wallflower a much more dimensional villain.]]

* CommonKnowledge: A common criticism of [[spoiler:Wallflower Blush]] is that she brought [[ForgettableCharacter their being forgotten]] on themselves by using the Memory Stone to erase everyones memories of her. But this was going on since 3rd grade and they only found the Stone after ''Friendship Games'', 9th grade at least, and they didn't use it [[EstablishingCharacterMoment in their introduction]], which everyone forgot about, despite it being the embarrassing interaction they said they used the stone on. Their being forgotten was a problem long before, and even when they didn't, use the Memory Stone.

* EvenBetterSequel: To the 4 existing films, since it not only maintains the high stakes that movies have had, but take advantage of what has already been established by them to achieve a better connection, also the character development is done well, and the scenes of Sunset in Equestria were what fans had hoped to see from an ''Equestria Girls'' entry for a while.

* BrokenBase: The premise of Sunset's HeelFaceTurn being forgotten and having to re-earn their trust has this status. Supporters think of it as a good premise that truly tells if Sunset is really worth redemption, and it also makes it feel less of an EasilyForgiven case with her especially with the human Mane Six also resenting her unlike ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyEquestriaGirlsRainbowRocks''. While detractors think of it as an unnecessary premise since ''Rainbow Rocks'' already gave Sunset plenty of a taste that the negative effects her past self has had on the people around her, with her also constantly showing determination to wanna change her ways despite everyone around her resenting her, and has helped many people later on that she already has proven that she is worthy of redemption. Detractors also point out the only reason why the human Main Five even helped Sunset change her ways instead of shunning her like everyone else is because Princess Twilight asked them to watch over her as a favor to make sure she lives up to her promise at the end of ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyEquestriaGirls1'', making it less of an EasilyForgiven case for Sunset and more of a case of doing a favor for a friend for the human Main Five.

* IdiotPlot: Since pony Twilight Sparkle still has her memories of Sunset, she has been to the human world a couple of times and is well known at Canterlot High, and since [[spoiler:Wallflower Blush]] is said to have only erased memories of Sunset with nothing mentioned about pony Twilight, Sunset could have brought pony Twilight from Equestria to the human world to tell the human Mane Six what happened and they could all work together to drive out the culprit behind the memory erasing, thus resolving the shunning Sunset got from the human Mane Six since they think she's still a bully.

** The human Mane Six when they're good memories of Sunset Shimmer are erased are sort of this. Their harshness towards Sunset is meant to be presented as if Sunset was the same bully she always was to them and are justified to believe she hasn't changed. While their rejection towards her is understandable, they don't really give her a chance to prove that she changed, and they don't even notice how out of character she is as she keeps up her NiceGirl streak for a lot longer than she usually did whenever she messed with them. Then there's the scene where Sunset accidentally breaks Twilight's camera drone. If Twilight's drone was broken by Sunset back when she was a bully, she would more likely show no remorse over it and even laugh it off, while here she's quite remorseful and her tone and face show it was clearly an accident, but it's seen through Twilight's perspective as Sunset breaking it on purpose. The human Mane Six seem more as they grabbed the JerkassBall and are not giving Sunset even the slightest bit of chance to show that she's not a bully anymore just to drive the story forward.

* InformedWrongness: Sunset Shimmer realizes she's at fault for provoking [[spoiler:Wallflower Blush's]] retribution for ignoring them, thus failing to show them she had reformed. But given that she has saved the school multiple times, it's hard to fault Sunset for assuming everyone thought her redeemed. Given [[spoiler:Wallflower]] was so hard to notice they [[EpicFail unsuccessfully tried to get their attention for a half a song]] and was just as forgotten by everyone else, it's unfair to fault or single out Sunset for it.

** It's hard not to feel sorry for [[spoiler:Wallflower Blush, even (or especially) when it's revealed [[TheNondescript being ignored by everyone]] drove her to erase everyone's positive memories of Sunset Shimmer in a fit of jealousy. It helps that while she didn't have the excuse of magic corrupting her like some, she was still using magic that she didn't understand the consequences of, and is visibly shaken up when she sees just how painful and traumatic it is for someone to have their mind messed with like that.]]
** Sunset herself definitely qualifies. The memories of her being friends with the others are stolen and her attempts to get them to remember doesn't work. This extends to not just the Rainbooms, but the entire school, meaning she's back to where she started in ''Rainbow Rocks'' (but this time ''without'' the Equestria Girls on her side to support her). Then, she has her own memories of her time in the human world stolen and is scared out of her mind at suddenly being in an unknown place and body. Anybody else wanna give her a hug after this?

** It's harsh to take [[spoiler:Wallflower's motive into consideration when you realize that, outside of Crystal Prep's students, none of the extra characters introduced like the Dazzlings, Gloriosa or Juniper ever make an additional appearance after their first, which means that Wallflower's plight and desire to be remembered and noticed will inevitably be for naught. That said, it doubles as HeartwarmingInHindsight as, now that she has brought herself in the forefront, she can now be used as reference for fan artists and fanfic writers, ensuring that she ''will'' be noticed and remembered]].

Both are reformed baddies, and the way they both [[spoiler:place themselves in harm's way for those they care about]] is practically the same.
