* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: More like character''s'', but Mowgli’s three wolf brothers are greatly underutilized. In the original book, Shere Khan actually managed to get a few young members of the pack on his side by sharing his food with them and later rallies them against Akela. Shere Khan’s influence on the pack could have been further shown by manipulating Mowgli’s brothers (who passionately hate the boy) to side with him to get rid of Akela and Mowgli. However, all three of them have very minimal attention and could be taken out of the story with little to nothing changing.

* UncannyValley: Since the movie uses performance capture to create the animals rather than making them fully animated, most of the CGI animal designs ended up with rather disturbing human-like qualities, such as human eyes rather than animal ones and vaguely humanoid facial structures.

** Shere Khan's crippled forepaw is a great (and seldom seen) detail from the book, but that doesn't change the fact that it looks cartoony as all heck whenever he uses said paw to point and gesture like it was a normal human hand. This is only accentuated by how natural the rest of his (and the other animal characters) movements look.
** Also, Mowgli ultimately having to lure Khan in for a showdown [[Film/StarTrekIITheWrathOfKhan by screaming "KHAAAAAAAAAN!"]] What makes it even sillier is that he is yelling it to a character played by Creator/BenedictCumberbatch, who also played Khan in ''Film/StarTrekIntoDarkness''.
*** Hands up anyone who thinks it wasn't deliberate. Anybody?
