A petty man who believes [[ItsAllAboutMe the kingdom revolves around him]], Rudo had no qualms [[DisproportionateRetribution executing anyone for the smallest slight]]. When he learned about Finis's abilities, he instigated fights with neighboring countries in order to use her power to massacre them despite being aware that [[CastFromLifespan her powers cause her life to shorten]], coercing her by threatening to execute Henry if she refused. Getting more jealous of Finis and Henry's relationship, Rudo tried to have Henry killed in battle but when he learned that Finis's powers were at her limit, he decided to do one last horrific act towards her. Having Finis's attendant Corte executed before having Henry's men killed and then have Henry tied up disguised as an enemy soldier, Rudo tricked Finis into burning him to ash before laughing at her despair when she realize what has done. Blackhearted, the original incarnation of Prince Rudo was the driving force of Finis's horrific fate.

** General Bazra Bearmors was once a mercenary with great {{ambition|Is Evil}}, but later became a ruthless madman bent on [[TakeOverTheWorld world domination]]. Wanting to extract Finis's powers, he forces Dr. Weissen to make weapons from her power, before having his team killed and exiling him. Rising to the ranks to become general through slaughtering opposing nations with Finis magic, Bazra plotted to launch a coup against the Royal Family, secretly making the Symphony Killer a mobile fortress to eliminate them and his opposition. When he learned Rin also had the same power as Finis, Bazra tried to capture her, along the way burning down her village and killing her family. When Henry's forces began a resistance, Bazra decided to use the Symphony Killer to destroy the capital and massacre Henry's resistance as his first step towards world conquest.

* TheWoobie: Finis can qualify. Treated as nothing but a weapon to be used in war, losing her lifespan little by-little with every song and then the man she has come to love gets threatened by her captor.

* ClicheStorm: this series combines every cliche from a HighFantasy anime (princesses, good and bad princes, evil conquerors, etc.) and a ''VideoGame/TalesSeries'' game in a blender with added songs in it.

* MoralEventHorizon: General Bazra crossed it when he killed Rin and Al's grandfather for refusing to hand him over a paper that contained a Spirit Song's letter.
** Bazra also destroyed Dr. Weisen's lab by sinking it in a lake, leaving all of Weisien's assistants to drown, all in order to obtain the plans for manufacturing the boxes that can store the Spirit Songs.
** Prince Lood was an unlikable Jerkass before, but he crossed it when he forced Finis to use a Spirit Song to obliterate an enemy fortress despite having seen her ''coughing blood'' afterwards. And she only complied because Lood threatened to execute Henry if she didn't sing.
** Lood surpasses himself in episode 7 [[spoiler:when he kills Henry's subordinates, dresses him as an enemy soldier and tricks Finis into ''burning him to death'', gloating when Finis realizes what has happened, you know he has gone from a mere PrinceCharmless, to a full-blown EvilPrince]].
* VanillaProtagonist: both Finnis and Rin come off as protagonists without any unique personalities. So did Henry, since he was a prince who is a NiceGuy and not much else.
* UnintentionallySympathetic: How can we sympathize to a girl who [[spoiler: destroyed the world many times because of the death of her love and cannot move on with her life?]] i'm looking at you [[spoiler: Finis.]]
