* SeasonalRot: Season 2 is this according to some fans. This is mainly an issue of personal preference as the story's focus is much wider, breaking up into largely separate plots that spotlight different characters. There's also the aforementioned BrokenBase over the DEEN's animation quality.

* MaryTzu: Shiroe's plans rarely fail and [[XanatosGambit often lead to something]] when they do. Shiroe regularly executes or theorizes exploits that are game breaking, which others find astonishing because they couldn't imagine it themselves [[GenreBlindness (despite how obvious it would be for real world MMO veterans)]]. He is a recognized genius because of these factors, and people want information on whatever he's scheming on the sole merit that it's a Shiroe Plan. He's so good, people in-story wish they had a fraction of the intellect he does. From a Military Science prospective he's demonstrated the genius of Sun Tzu (a battle can be won before it's even fought through planning), Machiavelli (duplicity and subterfuge is justified to achieve a political goal), and Clausewitz (the threat of force is a form of politics)... just to name three major figures out of the dozens he emulates. [[SerialEscalation Economic Science too!]] It's far more detailed in the light novel, but only touched upon the anime to save time, that he's demonstrated insight with John Keynes (father of modern capitalism) and Milton Friedman (a critic of Keynesian Economics with alternative insight) to avoid most obvious pitfalls. Some of the Trade Guild Leaders are amazed at it... despite the fact [[GenreBlindness they should be more knowledgeable]] about those concepts than Shiroe. It somewhat gets lessened due the MMO world's HollywoodEconomics and CastFromMoney being different from 20th and 21st century Earth, but the basic principals are sound. As the story progresses Shiroe will also gain the power of [[spoiler: CombatClairvoyance]], which obviously needs little explaination to describe how more dangerous it makes him.

* AscendedFanon: Mamare has gone on record several times to state that, if he likes a particular bit of fanfiction done on the series, he'd be more than willing to add its details to official canon.
** A notable example is the fanfic '''D.D.D. Diaries''', which details the command structure of the eponymous guild, as well as its personalities, such as the female assassin in the skimpy outfit that appears to the right of Krusty during the assault on the Goblin General. Who also happens to be a Main/{{GIRL}}.
** Hien comes from a fan fic. Most of Crescent Moon's members in the anime were taken from ''Honey Moon Logs'', just like how several members of the West Wind Brigade were from their guild's spin-off manga.
** Aside from the nine members who were trapped in the Apocalypse, most of the Debauchery Tea Party's members' names and descriptions came from a fan book.
** An excellent example of this would be [[http://i.imgur.com/rmzrha4.jpg the players who joined Akatsuki]] in the anime [[spoiler:taking down the Akiba murderer]]. Anyone who wasn't Akatsuki, Raynesia, Rieze, Mikakage, or Tatara, had a manga spinoff of their own (Crescent Moon, West Wind Brigade) was either a fanfiction character (up to and including the ''missing D.D.D. Der Klauen member'' Kushi Yamata) or a transplant from another part of the franchise (Seine, who's a character in the Log Horizon REPLAY books, and Endou Akiba from the tabletop RPG).

** Akatsuki's side-story in season two where she goes after the Christmas murder is very hit-and-miss amongst the fans. Some found that the arc [[ArcFatigue didn't need to drag on for four episodes]], and were getting impatient, because what they truly wanted to see was the action going on in Shiroe's raid on ''Elder Tail's'' gold stash. Others were fine with it, stating that this is what Log Horizon is best known for building up the problem before finally dealing with it, and eventually got to what everyone was begging for; an action-packed final episode of the arc dealing with the murderer. Akatsuki's CharacterDevelopment seen throughout this arc is also a huge plus for some people as it was something that was constantly asked for all throughout season one due to her EnsembleDarkhorse status.

* HilariousInHindsight: Much of the beginning of Season 2 involves Shiroe trying to figure out how to generate enough funds to pay for the Round Table's upkeep costs for maintaining Akihabara's infrastructure. He then comes across an idea to exploit a hole in the game's logic: mainly, if monsters drop gold, ''where does the gold from''? His investigation takes him to an underground raid zone. So basically, Shiroe is looking for the fabled [[{{Destiny}} Loot Cave]].

Complaining About Shows You Dont Watch is now only about the In Universe usage. Its usage as an Audience Reaction is being removed, as well as usage in criticism on work pages, which is inappropriate regardless.

* [[ComplainingAboutShowsYouDontWatch Complaining About Books You Don't Read]]: LogHorizon and SwordArtOnline are much longer than the anime, as they were originally light novels that are still ongoing. Lots of comparison complaints fail to take into account they differ the more in-depth it becomes, because said complainers judge based off the abridged anime and not the original source.
