The world-building, however, fared a little better, but even there are a lot more that could be explored from the tribes the Zyuranger originated from. The Yamato Tribe enjoyed most of the backstory thanks to the Geki-Burai conflict, followed by the Lithia tribe's mysticism affecting several of Mei's episodes. The Sharma tribe didn't have much, but Goushi makes it up with strong character devotion for Geki. The Etoffe and Dime tribes, however, didn't get mentions in the world building, leaving Dan and Boi feeling like they're just 'kinda there'.

Both Burai and Daizyujin are too major to qualify as Ensemble Darkhorse. Also removing aversions as YMMV cannot be played with.

* EnsembleDarkhorse: Burai. He's one of the most memorable aspects of the show, and all Sixth Rangers to appear later in the franchise owe their existences to how much the fans loved him.
** It's the same deal with [[Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers his American counterpart]].
** Exemplified with the Zyuranger Toys/SHFiguarts release - while typical Sentai Sixth Rangers are either Web Exclusives or are released after the Reds, Dragonranger was released at retail [[CueTheFlyingPigs before Tyrannoranger]].
** Appearance-wise Daizyuzin gets hit with this, to the point of being the second Sentai Robo to get a Soul of Chogokin treatment after the [[Series/BattleFeverJ Battle Fever Robo]], mainly due to [[Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers its MMPR counterpart]] [[GermansLoveDavidHasselhoff being the first and most memorable of the Megazords]], and the first of the Sentai Robo to be included in ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsXOmega'' (and need we remind you that [[NoExportForYou the game was never exported to English language]], so it's all on Daizyujin, no Megazord influence involved).

** The show gets a lot better when Burai turns up.

** One of the most absurd instances is in episode 48, at the climactic moment when [[spoiler:King Brachion]]is seemingly destroyed by Bandora. There is a brief distance shot of [[spoiler:King Brachion]] falling into the bottomless pit that Bandora has created, but it is very clear even without pausing that the shot is crude stop motion in which a photo cutout of [[spoiler:King Brachion]] wiggles along the background, a photo of an obviously not-bottomless crater composited onto a city shot.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSong: The first segment of the full opening theme (which isn't played on the TV version, curiously enough) rips off various notes from the original ''Film/{{Total Recall|1990}}'' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsUZ1aIp4OE theme]].
** This makes a lot of sense when you learn that the arrangements of the opening and ending themes were done by Kenji Yamamoto, whose serial plagiarism got him fired from his role as composer for ''Anime/DragonBallZKai'' and got his soundtrack for the ''VideoGame/DragonBallZBudokai'' games replaced in the HD rerelease.

* SoOkayItsAverage: The show isn't ''bad'', but there much better Sentai series. The general consensus is that Burai and the mecha designs are great, but the story and other characters are underdeveloped. It ''does'' have a strong cult following in America, [[Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers for obvious reasons]]. Grown-Ups In Spandex's fansub release also helped in this regard.

* ToughActToFollow: Part of the reason why the season was considered SoOkayItsAverage by Japanese viewers was because it was the first Sentai season to come out after ''Series/ChoujinSentaiJetman'', which is considered one of the greatest seasons in the franchise.

* VindicatedByHistory: ''Zyuranger'' didn't exactly set the world alight when it was originally released, to the point that the SixthRanger tropes was implemented specifically to bring the viewers back in. After a couple of decades (and [[Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers an American adaptation that took the world by storm]]), the series is looked on much more fondly for its incredible mecha designs and action.

* WhatDoYouMeanItsForKids: Zyuranger is often considered LighterAndSofter than ''Jetman'''s drama-ladden story. Of course that's without taking consideration of some REALLY creepy stuffs Bandora go through in order to terrorize the children that she hates. Which up and up including snatching them outta nowhere as long as there's a reflection, [[AndIMustScream putting them in a suspended state inside a pillar with their faces visible, conscious all the time]], as they're to be sacrificed with the giant laughing head of a demon known as ''Dai Satan''. [[NightmareFuel Uh... yikes?]]

** Unlike most other Sentai, ''Zyuranger'' did not get TheMovie. However, as a result of being adapted, Zyuranger-derived suits and characters took the lead both in the [[Film/MightyMorphinPowerRangersTheMovie first ''Power Rangers'' movie]] and TheRemake [[Film/PowerRangers2017 ''Power Rangers'' film]], both of which were imported to Japan. The latter's Japanese premiere was even attended by Yuta Mochizuki (Geki) along with Takumi Kizu (Lucky), the Red actor of the contemporary ''Series/UchuSentaiKyuranger''.
