* TearJerker - Hijiri's story of how he and Toru met leaves Sasamori almost in tears at one point, but what really drives it home for her (and potentially the reader) is his question and Sasamori's answer afterwards: [[spoiler:"Was I qualified to save Tachibana back then?" Sasamori turns away in tears, overwhelmed by the fact that she can't tell him "yes," and the look of sad, futile resignation on his face at her non-answer.]]

He's got some good friends now (Sasamori and Hijiri have always treated him well, Asahi makes up with him, and Kuga and Tokita eventually join the circle), but the rest of the world largely thinks of him as something to ignore or defecate upon. It also gives a new view on his anger toward Toru. Toru's the guy who [[spoiler: ruined his relationship with Kuga and, despite being on the bottom of the PopularityFoodChain, manages to get Sasamori's attension, when Houjou had to work hard to get anywhere and still failed.]]

As a result Hijiri had to stay away from the girl he liked. As opposed to calling the police or something.]] Unfortunately [[JustifiedTrope Justified]] (inasmuch as the response can be called "forgiveness") because [[spoiler:there's no evidence but a bunch of "visions" and supposition that amount to hearsay, so nothing can be done except keeping well away]].
** Asahi, who originally revealed Toru had no Iris. Sure, she did it in a fit of rage as a child after Toru revealed the nature of her Iris, but in a manga that tries to show redeeming qualities in otherwise ''horrible'' people, ''she's never shown feeling guilty about it at all,'' much less even apologizing!
