** The Matriarch Warmonger from ''WebOriginal/{{Serina}}'' has quite a number of similarities with Pi-pipipupu, notably being an old one-eyed alpha female of a violent and genocidal race who eventually loses their remaining eye and, blinded, wounded and defenseless, is abandoned by their army to eventually be devoured alive by scavengers.

* AuthorsSavingThrow: A few concepts seem to adress some criticisms regarding ''Serina'':
** One criticism of ''Serina'' was how the initial wave of canaries didn't become an invasive species and devastate the ecosystem. The Early Rodentocene in this project adresses this problem, depicting rises and falls of hamster populations until they eventually found a stable equilibrium.
** ''Serina's'' serezelles dying out from competition with the circuagodonts was heavily criticized, while in ''Hamster's Paradise'' a similar occurence happens with the spread of saberleaf and the ungulopes during the Therocene: but rather than driving other species to extinction, they segregate their diets to reduce competition and end up taking separate niches.
** For the original iteration, in which several concepts were revamped and explained in detail (such as the evolution of reptile-like rodents and why the harmsters are evil).

** One of the sapient species to develop on Serina, the woolly wumpo, is a wise, bipedal omnivore with an elephant-like trunk that uses branches as weapons against dog-like predators, making them similar to the splintsters.
