** Creator/NikolajCosterWaldau's character was born in a rich and powerful ruling family of which he is the heir. He goes through an ordeal that costs him a part of his body and he's forced to fight without it. He also undergoes some serious CharacterDevelopment that makes him a much better person in the ensuing journey. Not unlike [[Series/GameOfThrones Jaime Lannister]]. He also kills a king, although this time there is much rejoicing afterwards.
** One of Creator/GerardButler's famous roles was [[Film/ThreeHundred a Large Ham leading Spartans against a self-declared God-King who had creepy face-mask-wearing bodyguards]]. In this film, he IS a LargeHam God-King and commands an army of face-mask wearing mooks. He also gets told that what he's doing is madness.

* {{Narm}}: Any possible epicness to be had from Ra's fight with Apophis is undermined by Creator/GeoffreyRush's grunting noises whenever Ra fires off a blast of solar energy. Not to mention: it's Geoffrey Rush in flowing robes and a giant, golden headdress, still occasionally channeling being a pirate and using jarringly vulgar language (Though it could be argued this also goes a great way towards portraying Ra as actually being a ''[[DownToEarth down-to-earth]]'' rather than aloof, distant and overly pompous sun god).

Fridge Brilliance: Set dismissing Osiris's accomplishments moved to Fridge section

* FridgeBrilliance: At first glance, it appears that Set [[YouAnsweredYourOwnQuestion answered his own question]] the moment he asked what Osiris has accomplished in a 1000 years of peace. He also conveniently ignores the utopia built in Ancient Egypt. A poor choice of words? Not really from his perspective. Set is the god of ''deserts, storms, disorder, violence, and foreigners''. The cites of Ancient Egypt has none, if not little of those shown onscreen under Osiris' rule, which made Set's domains practically irrelevant. No wonder Set didn't count what Osiris did as accomplishments.
