** "Fleet Depleter", which requires you to destroy ''10,000'' Gunships. Of all the "Kill X enemies" achievements, this one is the most-hated; Gunships come at you in huge numbers, but not in giant clustered waves like Ants or Spiders that you can wipe out en masse with [=AoE=] weapons, usually requiring you to pick them out of the sky one at a time, meaning this one takes ''hours'' of grind. This is almost universally the last achievement all players earn.
** More like "That One Category of Achievements"; nobody likes the Survival Mode achievements because, as well as being incredibly grindy themselves (play through 500 total rounds anyone?), nobody likes Survival Mode in general.

* GodDamnBats: The gunships are incredibly annoying. They have little health, but are quit small and fast, making them hard to shoot down without lock capable weapons. To top it off they have two different attack modes. Their laser pulses during which they will strafe you on the ground in a attack run, usually while you're busy dealing with other problems, and a high powered laser they fire after they stop for a short bit before going back to zooming around. Now throw in multiple gunships doing that and it gets really annoying.

* ThatOneLevel: Mission 2-5 "The Cube". After enduring ''massive'' waves of ants and spiders while you have to eliminate multiple anthills, the end of it sees you assaulted by ''two bomber spiders and two mantises at the same time.'' So not only are you being pursued and blown around like a ragdoll by the LightningBruiser mantises and their multiple area of effect blasts and wide-ranging scythe shots, you're also constantly being swarmed by a non-stop swarm of ticks. Both bomber spiders and mantises are ''massive'' bullet sponges too, so even bringing ''one'' of them down is an ordeal, plus when you're being assaulted by a pair of them it's almost impossible to focus fire [[TwinSwitch without getting them mixed up]]. If you only have the weakling AI teammates supporting you (who get taken down in seconds by the mantises), beating this on hard is hair-pullingly frustrating, never even mind inferno.

*** Which is why you ''suppress'' the Nest with heavy weaponry, as instructed by Intel and Ops. This forces the Nest into a sort of dormant, damaged state where it cannot spawn any bugs for a minute or two. Easiest with very heavy AOE weapons, like the Rav-Tech weapons from the Aerialist Munitions Package or the Tank's main gun. Usually keeps it shut long enough for you to clear out the nearby bugs and plant the charge.

* DemonicSpiders: Ignoring the ''actual'' spiders (though the Robot Spiders certainly fit this trope nicely), Wasps (namely Cyborg/Robot Wasps) border on this and BossInMookClothing. They are much, ''much'' tougher than most mooks even on Normal, and whilst they hover in one place a lot they also move very rapidly when they aren't hovering.
