* Fanon: Regarding Drake and Josh's father and mother respectively. General consensus is that Josh's mother passed away at some point, his discomfort with hospitals being seen as evidence of this. Drake's father possibly left his family, as Drake still refers to Walter by name rather than "Dad", which several fans think implies Drake still has bitterness over the matter.
* FanficFuel: We never hear any word of Drake's biological father or Josh's biological mother. Who were they and how did Drake and Josh's respective parents wind up single?

it is why he and Megan refuse to call Walter "Dad."

** The episode "Two Idiots and a Baby" had Josh babysit a baby named Max. In 2018, Creator/JoshPeck had a baby and he was named Max, and he didn't realise it until it was pointed out by fans!

* SpecialEffectsFailure:
** The fire in "We're Married" during Drake and Yooka's wedding is quite clearly CGI. And not very convincing.
** At the end of "The Bet", everyone is a victim of having to dye their hair pink. Except they're all obviously wearing wigs (Drake is wearing one in-universe, so he's off the hook).

* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic:
** Megan was written to be the cute, mischievous girl who enjoys playing pranks on her titular brothers. Problem is those pranks become borderline psychopathic, and since she gets away with nearly every last one of them, it automatically caused her to garner hatred from many fans. What's more is that aside from the fact the writers even try to balance out her sordid pranks by giving Drake and Josh some KickTheDog moments to make them seem worse, the showrunner Dan Schneider was completely unaware of how infuriated the fandom became of Megan's cruel pranks, making her a CreatorsPet.
** Walter and Audrey have shades of this whenever it comes to Megan. They are meant to be seen as your typical parents who are just plain clueless to their daughter's cruelty. However, there are some very obvious hints to Megan's true nature and they never listen to and harshly punish the titular duo for the troubles despite there being absolutely zero proof that they were responsible for the shenanigans, so they instead come off as complete idiots and Jerkass insensitive jerks.
** They also fall into this in Steered Straight, when they threaten Drake and Josh with prison after they used fake [=IDs=] to get into a concert. While using fake [=IDs=] isn't the right thing to do, the fact that Drake and Josh's crime was harmless (they just wanted to see the band and weren't drinking alcohol) and Walter and Audrey even say they're sending them to the program for things that clearly weren't their fault or were completely unintentional just make them look more inconsiderate than well intentioned. It certainly doesn't help the fact that they're likely also sending them to the program for all of the things Megan did.

** Walter. You can't help but feel sorry for everything that happens to him: Megan constantly disrespects him, his own son and step-son treat him as inferior, and the world seems to just hate him. The only one that seems to like him is Audrey, but even she treats him like crap at times. He's constantly compared to Bruce Winchell, who's considered a better weatherman than he is (and is made fun of repeatedly by Megan and Drake and Josh because of his attempts to be better than Bruce) and even Audrey shows more interest at Bruce as well. It doesn't also help that Dan has later on started including other characters that serve no purpose other than to be laughed at for existing.

Added DiffLines:

* Squick: Somewhat In- Universe in the episode "Helicopter". Josh asks Audrey what she's doing in the kitchen and she says she's boiling underwear that Walter bought second hand, because she thinks buying second-hand underwear is gross. A few minutes later turns into full-squick when they both leave and Walter comes in, thinking it's something Audrey's cooking and tastes it.

** Megan. On the one hand, she gets a lot of flak due to her KarmaHoudini status whenever she harasses Drake and Josh. On the other hand, there are plenty of fans who could tolerate her antics and appreciate it whenever she occasionally helps them out once in a while. There are also many fans who find her sneaky antics funny and like her in a LoveToHate way.
