Critical Research Failure is an index, not a trope.

* CriticalResearchFailure:
** The creators thought Joe's crest was responsibility. In the English dub, it is actually reliability. [[SubvertedTrope They could only admit the mistake in the credits as it was already in late production by the time they realized it.]] To their credit, they were at least close (and in-universe, it could be chalked up to Izzy just not remembering thanks to the timeskip). They even make a joke about it in the prequel series' episode 7.
** The reset of the Digital World is referred to be going back four years prior to the events, back to how it was before the kids first showed up, however, tri. occurs ''six'' years after Adventure, not four. [[https://twitter.com/TheAzureCrow/status/802361030055641088 The author admitted the mistake a few days later.]] (And the reset was to a point long before that, also.)
** Not even the fans are safe from this. Meta example, the comments section especially in the later episodes has quite a noticeable number of people asking for the next episode in one of the few abridged series ''[[OvertookTheManga that has to wait the next part of the source material to actually exist.]]'' The author is understandably [[https://twitter.com/TheAzureCrow/status/807519313330511872 baffled and frustrated.]]

Abridge series are parodies and aren't meant to be replacements for dubs.

* HilariousInHindsight: Remember the very fact that the episodes of this abridged series is written within a month after each of the actual movies. Turning many of the one-off gags into foreshadowing for the actual series is no small feat all by itself.
** Meikuumon being [[spoiler:evil in the first episode. Revealed to be true in the 2nd movie.]]
** Maki Himekawa [[spoiler:having a hidden agenda. Revealed to be sort of true in the 2nd movie.]]
** Everything Hackmon/Huckmon says [[spoiler:are always under the lines of "All according to plan" in episode one and two.]] Guess what was his voice debut line in the 3rd movie.
** Homeostasis being evil. [[spoiler:Sorta true as of the 4th movie.]]
*** [[spoiler: As of the 6th movie, it seems to be inverted.]]
** Maki's closing monologue at the end of episode 2, although it's just author's headcanons at that time becomes this when it was revealed in ''Loss'' [[spoiler:that she was one of the digidestined that sealed away the Dark Masters at the cost of her partner.]] Not to mention, in episode 3 she also knows about [[spoiler:Homeostasis]] even before the canon reveal in ''Loss''.
** Daigo's rant about going to the Digital World and finding himself a Digimon becomes hilarious when in ''Loss'' [[spoiler: it's revealed he ''had'' his own Partner Digimon in his youth. His hatred of Tai also becomes this as it seems he was also the goggle-headed leader of his team]].
** Joe worrying about the return of the [[spoiler:Dark Masters. The 4th movie proves him right to worried. Though like with the case of [=BlackImperialdramon=], it's ambiguous whether or not these ''are'' the real Dark Masters, as the corruption that created them shouldn't exist anymore (as it didn't originate in the digital world, and thus shouldn't have been restored with the reboot), and they're controlled like puppets, when previously they were largely independent.]]
** During Cindy's message to humanity, she states that it's time for the end of the Human and Digital World's '''''symbiosis'''''. Symbiosis would be revealed to be the title for the 5th movie in June 2017.
** Maki's telling about the [=DigiGates=] being able to lead to any world "even the gross monochrome ones" in Episode 3. [[spoiler:She ends wandering right into said "gross monochrome" world aka the Dark Ocean in her walk of insanity after finding out that Tapirmon doesn't remember her during the events of ''Symbiosis''.]]
