* GoodBadBugs: Because their attacks are programmed to be OneHitKill instead of dealing damage, dying to the Test or Rox still allows the escape artist bonus, offering some coins for the player's trouble.

* FridgeBrilliance: Why does the lightning in the thunderstorm event ''target'' Dave? Because his head is a block of metal.

* DemonicSpiders: [[LethalJokeCharacter Mr. Tea]] is often considered one of the hardest killers to face. He can use a gun like the YFA, but unlike the latter his bullets can go through walls and have no range limit. Tea is also the only character with no range limit on his sight. Because of this, it's common for the player to be randomly sniped by him from across the map with no warning.

** Losing in a level will subtract 100 schmeckles from your total. Meanwhile, besides bonuses you receive the same amount of schmeckles for winning, even though it's hard to. With most cosmetics costing 1000+ schmeckles, the average player will have nothing for their entire early game, and that's not considering the aformentioned {{Random Event}}s that make winning even harder.

* ScrappyMechanic: The {{Random Event}}s are, well, random, and there's usually no way to control or even predict if one will occur until the player is inside a round. While this allows the player to experience some of the more interesting events like Proto-Nitemare or Wails in the Night, it can also screw them over should you be unlucky enough to have one like Troll Toll or Dave's Demotivation.

* SugarWiki/FunnyMoments:
** On [[AffectionatePickpocket Momma Berr]]'s encyclopedia page, Grizzlelips will remark how lovely she was when they were together, right before noticing his wallet is missing.
*** When you actually return Baby Berr, Momma will scold him for [[DoWrongRight venturing outside of their territory to pickpocket, as opposed to for pickpocketing at all]] or for running off.
*** You CAN return Baby Berr to his mother, or you can [[BlackComedy give him to the Blacksmith Berry for some scrap]]. Upon confirming your choice you'll even [[CrossesTheLineTwice hear the baby scream for a moment before being cut off]].
** Almost every killer has a handful of lines revealing they're goofy as can be. Special mention goes to Sylvester's [[WhatsAHenway ligma and deez lines]], Dungy's [[OnlyInItForTheMoney gripes about pay]], and Grubbler being a SoreLoser if you escape him.
** While every other Berry makes '[[SpeakingSimlish Berry noises]]', Boner Bro Berry will instead utter "guacamole" as his interaction voice clip.
** Edgy Dave has various statues of himself inside his penthouse. One of these depicts him in the [[Memes/FamilyGuy memetic death pose]].
** Occasionally Edgy Dave will pipe up on the radio or one of his broadcast stations and begin a talk. He's got dozens upon dozens of them, ranging from complaining about everything to ranting off memes with Randy. In one interaction Berry will even sneak onto the air and begin a broadcast denouncing Edgy Dave before the latter angrily kicks him out.
** Some of the ArtificialStupidity the killers demonstrate is worth a good chuckle. Every now and then they'll pause for a moment before seemingly remembering they're supposed to kill Dave, some killers like Randy and Megan will run flying off stairs if they encounter them, and some will even moonwalk if they turn around too fast while running.
** One of Pumpkin's challenges is titled "Dear Sam, I'm Sorry" and features a whole crew of killer {{Giant Spider}}s. Sam happens to be the Game Salmon, one of Dave's friends, [[TrollingCreator who also happens to have a major case of arachnophobia]].

Most edgy variants even use pitched down versions of the regular character's audio in lieu of having their own.
