* ClicheStorm: The theory is predicated on the standard EveryoneIsJesusInPurgatory cliches, specifically the incredibly common theory that's been applied to pretty much all children's media that everyone's, well, in purgatory and all have suitably tragic backstories common for any given DarkFic. The theory tries to distinguish itself via the UnfinishedBusiness of each kid, and while they individually may be well thought out, the notion of UnfinishedBusiness is in of itself yet another cliche.
* {{Tearjerker}}: Really, just the fact that the kids of the Cul De Sac were killed before what could've been the best years of their lives and will never experience adulthood is guaranteed to bring the waterworks.

Edit reason: YMMV items can't be played with, and as-written the entry was just "nuh-uh! It's not a cliche storm and is clever and original!"

* ClicheStorm: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]]. While the premise of the theory is that the characters are actually dead, the theory does actually make some sense in a few places such as Eddy dying during the Great Depression. Many consider this theory to be one of the more "original" fan theories out there.

Trope rename.

* AmbiguousDisorder: Petey's fairly reclusive, a PickyEater, and a highly neurotic germophobe, but excels when it comes to creating shoebox dioramas and comics. Him being a CloudCuckooLander could also contribute to this, but everyone in the strip has demonstrated that in one way or another.

** Averted in later Sunday strips where the Watercolor has returned, and has combined the best of both worlds.

Added DiffLines:

* HilariousInHindsight: In [[http://www.gocomics.com/culdesac/2007/10/22 one strip]], Alice wishes she could take her head off and throw it at people to attack them. About ten years later, we now have [[VideoGame/PokemonUltraSunAndUltraMoon UB Burst]], who does exactly that (with a dash of YourHeadAsplode).

If this doesn't count as Genius Bonus and instead as Billingual Bonus, feel free to move it.
