* SpiritualSuccessor: Wrestling/BethPhoenix is considered a modern example, the two often being compared. Beth also became the second woman to compete in the Royal Rumble - and even took a (kayfabe) shot at Chyna afterwards.

* OnceOriginalNowCommon: Chyna was never really the best wrestler. Depending on her opponent, she could put on a good match, but a lot of her matches haven't aged as well. As far as ring presence goes there have been larger women before (Monster Ripper in CSP/WWC, Nickla Roberts in her WCCW and CWF days), contemporary to (Rio Storm on the independent circuit, Midnight in WCW) and after her (Jamie D/Sirelda in TNA). Match wise, fans of other promotions might have been desensitized by having already seen women with much less presence such as Wrestling/Jacqueline or Jazz give and take hits from men just as well as Chyna or later seen women such as Amazing Kong, Wrestling/SaraDelRey, Wrestling/BethPhoenix or Alpha Female in similar brute roles with superior wrestling ability. But at the time, the only notable wrestling female in WWF/E was Wrestling/Sable - a glamorous Diva who had it written into her contract that she couldn't take bumps. The idea of a woman like Chyna even existing at all in WWF/E was groundbreaking (the aforementioned Monster Ripper was in WWF before Chyna, but was treated like a joke and barred from using her best moves). Several people actually argued about Beth Phoenix being put into WWE's Hall of Fame before Chyna for this reason.

* UnfortunateImplications: Website/WrestleCrap noted these about Triple H's rationale for keeping Chyna out of the WWE Hall of Fame. Triple H outright said that her being a porn actress was preventing it, invoking ThinkOfTheChildren. WC pointed out that the implication being that doing porn is somehow worse than statutory rape (Mike Tyson), prostitution (Sunny), sex trafficking (Moolah), and homicide (Jimmy Snuka). Most people seem to agree that Triple H was lying, and using the porn as an excuse when the real reason would be the risk of putting Chyna around a live microphone with her history of mental illnesses and well-documented verbal abuse towards the company. While he may have had a point that one of Chyna's porn films featured expies of the [=McMahons=] -- which would be potentially traumatic for his kids to see -- the implications were still there that doing porn in general was the deciding factor as opposed to the other stuff. Also, Triple H's comment was vague enough that it covered everything. When asked about a HOF induction, he noted that Chyna deserved a spot, but he has an 8-year-old with access to Website/Google, then he says "If you Google Chyna, then what comes up?" He didn't specify porn or give details, but just alludes to her negative history overall. Porn is part of it, but there's also the accusations she's made about him such as cheating on her for a year with Stephanie while they were engaged and him hitting her during a bad fight. There's also comments about Vince (his kids' grandfather) and the company itself, whom his kids are fans of and interested in. This would make his case more understandable, but still does not let him off the hook when he and the company have welcomed people back who've said and done worse, like Hulk Hogan after been caught saying the N-word on film. Overall, most people, including Vince Russo, feel they would've respected HHH's answer more if he had admitted that her rocky history with him and his wife made it difficult to work out an appearance, or simply given the stock "never say never" non-answer, instead of trying to malign her for doing what she felt she had to do to make ends meet after he left her with nothing.

* ShockingSwerve: Chyna low-blowing HHH, thus turning herself heel and joining The Corporation. It came out of nowhere and made no sense in context. The Rock was facing HHH in an "I Quit" match on the January 25, 1999 RAW when The Big Bossman and Kane came out with Kane lifting her for a Chokeslam. Rock told HHH, "Say you quit, or she goes for the ride of her life." HHH agreed and said "I quit." Kane placed Chyna back on her feet...and Chyna low-blowed HHH. The only reason to do it was to set up HHH turning heel on X-Pac at [=WrestleMania=] XV, which ends up HarsherInHindsight because of how HHH left Chyna for Stephanie, thus joining the Corporation for real.

Funny Aneurysm Moment was merged with Harsher in Hindsight.

* FunnyAneurysmMoment: Making fun of her appearance becomes a lot less funny since after her death it came out that she got bullied for her appearance a lot, even before her career, and that the reason she posed for Playboy in the first place was that it made her feel like a woman, willingly sacrificing her chance to receive a world champion title.

** Almost everything WWE-related considering she was let go on bad terms. But specifically, her relationship with HHH is so harsh it could be the trope image. They made a good team from 1997-1999 and many fans still enjoy them on screen as a badass BattleCouple. However, when HHH's marriage storyline with Wrestling/StephanieMcMahon started in October 1999, he began dating Stephanie for real, allegedly behind Chyna's back. The latter wasn't aware their romance was real until she found out the affair for herself one year later.
