* AlternateCharacterInterpretation: [[spoiler: Arnie manages to fight off possession in the final act of the novel. He was with his mother in the car. Did her presence prompt him to fight [=LeBay=]'s influence?]].

* InformedAttractiveness: There's no question that Alexandra Paul is attractive, but the boys at Arnie and Dennis's school react to Leigh as though she's the sexiest thing they've ever seen. Considering she dresses like somebody's mom and is considerably more withdrawn than other girls at the school, it's a little weird that they would be drooling over her like they are.

* InformedAttractiveness: There's no question {{Narm}}: It takes a while before we find out exactly what Buddy did to Christine that Alexandra Paul is attractive, but was so horrible - and Leigh's reaction makes one think of mutilated babies and the boys at Arnie and Dennis's school react to Leigh as though she's like. It turns out he took a dump on the sexiest thing they've ever seen. Considering she dresses like somebody's mom and windscreen, which is considerably more withdrawn than other girls at the school, it's a little weird that they would be drooling over her like they are.bound to prompt an ActuallyPrettyFunny reaction.

* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: The film chooses to have [[spoiler: Arnie driving Christine in the climax, averting his DyingMomentOfAwesome in the book where he tries to fight off being possessed]].

Added DiffLines:

* WTHCostumingDepartment: The wardrobe choices for Leigh in the film look quite frumpy and aren't very flattering, making it rather surprising how much the boys drool over her.

** Christine's first (more or less) kill wouldn't have been the CrowningMomentOfAwesome it was without [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FaPwo6EJuB0&feature=related Moochie Mix Four]] playing in the background.
** Christine's death as she is crushed in a compactor: "Rock and Roll is Here to Stay", she is taunting everyone that they will ''never be rid of her.''
*** NotQuiteDead: She appears in ''Literature/{{IT}}'' to bust Henry Bowers out of the psyche ward on Pennywise's behest. Though that may be more of a cameo than a truly revived Christine.
*** She also makes a cameo in ''Film/CatsEye.'' (Along with {{Film/Cujo}} the dog.)

* VisualEffectsOfAwesome: The shots of Christine's regenerations were actually shot using mock ups that were built with more flexible materials that looked like metal which were sucked in by pumps with the film being played back in reverse to complete the effect (which was surprisingly effective).
** There's also [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eu384gsCDAk this scene]] where Christine is on fire. The quality of the effects is what made it such a frightening scene.

* CriticalResearchFailure: When Dennis is in the hospital, the date reveals it to be Thanksgiving day. The football game on the TV is between the Lions and Raiders. Those two teams have played on Thanksgiving, but the game here shows the Lions in their road jerseys. The Detroit Lions ALWAYS play at home on Thanksgiving.
** There are a few scenes in the movie which show Christine locking her doors and we see that she has common lock "buttons" on the inside door panels. This is incorrect - 1958 Plymouths are not equipped with buttons. To lock the door, the door handle has to be rotated counter-clockwise.
** In 1958, the Lynch road assembly plant In Detroit ran on 3 shifts, 24 hours a day. They did not shut the plant down at 5pm as seen in the movie.
