You can trick the Pawns into moving diagonally, which will speed up their promotion to Queens. Don't want three Queens at once? Trick the Pawn into going forward faster!

* AdaptationDisplacement: The game uses RPG Maker's "poison" sound effect whenever you get transfured. Good luck finding anyone who doesn't know it better as the "Changed sound".

** The newest boss, the Gargoyle Chess Court, is by far one of the most difficult bosses in the whole game. Mainly because [[ZergRush there are several of them]], and their leader [[MyRulesAreNotYourRules happily breaks her own rules to get at Colin.]] First they move by the rules of chess but the space is cramped, there isn't a whole lot of wiggle room to avoid the gargoyle's attacks. Secondly each chess piece has their own gimmick, Pawns move one space at a time but undergo FieldPromotion if they reach the bottom of the screen, turning them into Queens and causing them to charge in straight lines as far as they can go, Bishops move only in diagonals, Knights can't be blocked by other pieces, making things hectic if one joins alongside other pieces, finally the Rooks move in straight lines. The King is the real pain, she combines with her Queen, allowing her to move an extra space after her Queen moves, she also pulls the castling move if she gets her Rook out while going after you. All in all you have to worry about multiple attacks coming at you from various angles and the leader ''actively cheating'', have fun!
* ThatOneLevel: Stiger's lair. The game already has a NintendoHard difficulty as all monsters are a OneHitKill. Stiger's lair still manages to be a very tough, dark narrow claustrophobic area, where [[TrialAndErrorGameplay just one wrong turn or mistimed step]] will result in an instant game over. There's only [[CheckPointStarvation one save point]] as well. Even WordOfGod said it was challenging and took them just as long to design it as completing a NoDamageRun.
* ThatOnePuzzle: The robot puzzle in Dr. K's laboratory in the original version. The damn thing can never go where you want it to (without abusing the way RPG Maker's movement system works), even though you know it's only mimicking your movements. You're restricted by gas and [[DemonicSpiders white latex blobs]] hanging from the ceiling that follow after you. Everytime you go near the bottom of the screen to check on the robot's progress, as its always getting stuck on something, the camera tries to [[EventObscuringCamera shift away the centre of attention]] from yourself which can get you assimilated. Mercifully, the door buttons [[AntiFrustrationFeatures have been tweaked]] for the ''Special Edition'', now having a one-second delay before deactivating again whenever Colin or the roomba aren't holding them down.

* FoeYayShipping: The Tiger Shark and Squid Dog are also often shipped in fanart, despite them being essentially rivals during the original game. The Fandom got the ApprovalOfGod for the ''Special Edition'' where their relationship is much more intimate (if the player avoids an earlier bad ending).

Added DiffLines:

* {{Shipping}}: Colin and Puro are often shipped as lovers in fanart when they are JustFriends in the GoldenEnding, with no UnresolvedSexualTension.
