* FanonDiscontinuity: Some fans refuse to accept this film or any other ''Chucky'' film that came after to be in canon with the previous three, although the backlash for this one isn't considered as bad as its sequel, ''Seed of Chucky''. ''Curse of Chucky'' goes back to the more straightforward horror of ''Child's Play'' in an attempt to WinBackTheCrowd, while retaining certain elements of ''Curse'' and ''Seed''.

* FridgeBrilliance: During the opening montage we see a number of items associated with other well known slasher icons, but out of all of them it makes sense for Michael Myers' mask to be in an evidence locker. This movie takes place shortly after ''Film/ChildsPlay3'' which if you do the math is set in 1998. What happened in [[Film/HalloweenH20TwentyYearsLater 1998]] in the ''Franchise/{{Halloween}}'' series ? [[spoiler:Michael Myers was (supposedly) decapitated after he was carted off. So it at the very least would explain why police would have had his mask in the first place.]]

* JerkassWoobie: Chucky and Tiffany. Yes they're both serial killers but the former actually displays a caring side and gets so close to finally succeeding in his goal only to be stabbed by his own wife, and the latter gets killed twice by her husband.

* HilariousInHindsight: John Ritter as a hilariously overprotective dad. It's surprising that it makes his role in ''Series/EightSimpleRules'' look tame by comparison.

** Also, [[spoiler: said badly burned]] Tiffany experiencing [[spoiler: DeathByChildbirth (but [[DeathIsCheap not really)]], and then the bloody, shrieking child jumping up and apparently killing the lead investigator.]]

* NightmareFuel: Even as one of the more comedic entries in the Film/ChildsPlay universe, it still had plenty of horrific scenes:

* JerkassWoobie:Chucky and Tiffany.Yes there both serial killers but the former actually displays a caring side and gets so close to finally suecedding in his goal only to be stabbed(but not killed)by his own wife and the latter gets killed twice by here husband.(although she did provoke him)

* NightmareFuel: Even as one of the more comedic entries in the Film/ChildsPlay universe, it still had plenty of horrific scenes:
** Many of the deaths because of their [[CruelAndUnusualDeath gory and/or odd natures]], including Human Tiffany's death by electrocution while bathing and Damien getting his piercings torn out and suffocated by a pillow.
** Doll Tiffany after she was [[spoiler: ''[[BodyHorror burned alive]]'' in an oven.]]
** The skeletal remains of Charles Lee Ray, which, obviously due to the passage of time, is [[{{Squick}} crawling with rats.]] Understandably, even ''Chucky'' himself is horrified by his appearance. Also, when ordering Jade to grab the amulet from around his corpse's neck, she '''breaks his neck.'''
** Also, [[spoiler: said badly burned]] Tiffany experiencing [[spoiler: DeathByChildbirth (but [[DeathIsCheap not really)]], and then the bloody, shrieking child jumping up and apparently killing the lead investigator.]]

* EvilIsSexy: Tiffany in human form.

* SurprisinglyImprovedSequel: Although the film is divisive, it got better reviews than any of the previous sequels. There are many who find the comedy elements to be an improvement, as well as the parallels with ''Film/TheBrideOfFrankenstein''.

* AwesomeMusic: Music/RobZombie's "Living Dead Girl" is a great way to start off the movie.

* HarsherInHindsight: Try watching the scene where Damien is smothered by Chucky when you found out Alexis Arquette passed away.

** The fight scene between Chucky and Tiffany. When we get an overhead view of the fight, you can see that it's two obvious little people in place of the dolls. The same type of thing occurred in ''Film/ChildsPlay'' at the scene where Chucky is climbing on the bed.
