Fetish Fuel is gone.

* FetishFuel: {{Batgirl}} and Catwomen!
** Yvonne Craig as Batgirl
** Julie Newmar or Eartha Kitt as Catwoman

* Main/FetishFuel: The Joker poisons two pretty fashion models, strips them, paints their skin white and their hair green, dresses them in revealing swimsuits, and [[{{Squick}} uses their corpses as ventriloquist dummies in a "funny" TV commercial]]. Sure, [[AndThatsTerrible it's horribly wrong]]....but it's also very much a turn-on for some people. ("''Love'' that Joker!")

However, unlike the comics, the TV version of Batman remains consistently and unambiguously written as Lawful Good. That\'s kind of the point.

Added DiffLines:

* LawfulGood: The Batman of this incarnation is ridiculously LawfulGood, to the extent of occasionally making things very inconvenient for himself. [[AffectionateParody Being the kind of universe this is,]] it generally works out well for him in the end.
-->'''Batman:''' "Better put 5 cents in the meter."
-->'''Robin:''' "No policeman's going to give ''the Batmobile'' a ticket!"
-->'''Batman:''' "No matter, Robin. This money goes to building better roads. We all must do our part. Good citizenship, you know."

* HateDumb: The complaints from " Batman fans" that this show nearly ruined Batman and didn't get him at all. At the time of the comics this was how Batman was portrayed. Actually the comics were even more stupid and played straight. (Just go to Superdickery.com and see). Batman was only "dark" for a brief period of time when he first started and then dissolved into a colorful superhero that the series represented. It wasn't until the 70's did Batman return to his darker roots, after this show had ended. Nevermind the fact that this show launched Batman into popculture and saved the comics from cancellation.

Every character is debatable in terms of Character Alignment. That\'s why The Great Character Alignment Debate was established in the first place. Batman\'s just one example.

DependingOnTheWriter, Batman can be either LawfulGood (upholds law, seeks to impose order on chaos, and has a strict moral code) or ChaoticGood (rejects authority, imposes his own brand of justice, and doesn't play well with others).

** Even before his transformation it is shown that Napier was ''always'' a CompleteMonster, at least since the later years of his childhood. Arguably, Bruce's impression of him in the nightmarish "Childhood Remembered" flashback is Napier at his worst.
** To elaborate on the above point, in the flashback, he was the one who murdered Bruce Wayne's parents, and his unnamed accomplice's reaction to it implied that killing the Waynes was certainly not part of the plan (apparently stealing Mrs. Wayne's pearls was really the only thing they definitely planned), and [[EvenEvilHasStandards probably was aghast by it]]. Napier also approaches Bruce Wayne shortly after committing this act and asks him if he's ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight and approaches him while aiming his gun at him and setting it to fire while giving a [[SlasherSmile nightmarish grin]], implying that he intended to murder Bruce Wayne as well. Literally the only reason why he spared him was because his accomplice told him to get out of there while fleeing.

Added DiffLines:

* Main/SeinfeldIsUnfunny: The first film was unique at the time. Comic book movies, and there weren't that many of them then, had never been so darkly elaborate before. It was also by far the darkest take on Batman beyond the actual comics. But after both the [[Main/{{DCAU}} DCAU take]] on the characters and the [[Main/TheDarkKnightSaga Christopher Nolan reboot]] proved to be exceptional adaptations in their own right, ''and'' the lingering bad aftertaste of Schumacher's sequels tainted the series' reputation, it's harder to appreciate the Burton films for what they were/are.

--->I'm Batman.

--->Can somebody tell me what kind of a world we live in, where a man dressed up as a ''bat'' gets all of my press? This town needs an enema!

* CrossesTheLineTwice/ NightmareFuelUnleaded: In what was perhaps the movie's most infamous scene, the Joker electrocutes Tony Rotelli with a "real" joybuzzer and then briefly chats with his burned, husked, and still-smoking corpse, acting as if the dead man is still alive. Kids in the audience couldn't watch that scene for ''years'' afterwards!

...or not. I disagree, but I will follow the current rules.

* AdaptationDecay: Although the tone of the show is true to the overall tone of the comic books at the time, the series implies that Bruce Wayne's father was a lawyer, and that his parents were killed by multiple criminals.

* AdaptationDecay: How much depends on the installment and who you ask, but it's generally acknowledged that it increased as the series went on.
** Arguably, it started with removing Joe Chill and making Joker the killer of Bruce's parents. The killer of Bruce's parents was never supposed to be a major character in the source material, or one whose identity was even important at all. However, [[YourMileageMayVary some cite]] the AdaptationDistillation in that it streamlines Batman's arch-nemesis'x with the criminal who inspired him to become a vigilante.
** The Batman in this version does not have his usual ThouShaltNotKill stance (at least not explicitly.) And while he doesn't explicitly kill anyone, he dispatches dozens of mooks using methods that seem extremely likely to have caused fatal injuries.

** Really? I didn't even know this series ever tackled the issue of Batman's parents, such a Grimdark backstory would seem wildly out of place. I'd have expected something more along the lines of Bruce Wayne being the latest in a long line of Batmen going back to Colonial days...
*** Bruce's parents' death at the hands of "criminals" is mentioned twice in the very first episode(s) and then never again in the series, as far as this troper recalls.
