Renamed one trope.

* QuestionableCasting: Many critics took jabs at the singing and dancing ability of the main cast, particularly Creator/CybillShepherd. Of the main cast, only Creator/MadelineKahn (Kitty) and Duilio Del Prete (Johnny Spanish) had actual professional singing experience, while Shepherd (Brooke) only had a singing career post-1974, and Creator/BurtReynolds hadn't done much in the way of music before or since.

* BillingDisplacement: Minor example. Creator/BurtReynolds, Cybill Shepherd, Creator/MadelineKahn and Duilio Del Prete all have a roughly equal amount of screentime and all of them are just as relevant to the plot (to the extent that they can all kinda be considered the protagonist in a sort of small-scale EnsembleCast}, but only Reynolds and Shepherd are billed above the title, and only their pictures are shown - Kahn and Del Prete are relegated to the billing block with the supporting cast.
** This probably has a lot to do with their relative StarPower - Reynolds was fresh off the successes of ''Film/{{Deliverance}}'' and ''Film/TheLongestYard'', while Shepherd was well-known for ''Film/TheHeartbreakKid'' and Bogdanovich's own ''Film/TheLastPictureShow''. Meanwhile, Del Prete was virtually unknown outside of Italy, while people mostly knew Creator/MadelineKahn for comedic characters in ''Film/PaperMoon'' and Creator/MelBrooks movies - not exactly leading-woman material.
* ProductionPosse: The film features [[Creator/PeterBogdanovich Bogdanovich]] regulars including Creator/MadelineKahn, Cybill Shepherd, Duilio Del Prete, Eileen Brennan, John Hillerman and Burton Gilliam in lead, supporting and cameo roles.

** Or as a pretty good comedy (the intentional variety - there's quite a bit of legitimately funny dialogue), even if it fails as a musical.
