Seldom Seen Species is no longer a trope, pothole removed.

* PopularWithFurries: After the Bomb has one of the most in-depth animal character creation systems ever seen in tabletop gaming, including thousands of options for species, features, anthropomorphism levels and much much more, making it the perfect system for furries to design their ideal animal persona with. Heck, roughly two thirds of the core gamebook are just tables, lists and rules for making the animal protagonists, which gives players unprecedented freedom in making whatever kind of furry character they could ever want. The truly massive amount of SeldomSeenSpecies introduced as additional player options in later sourcebooks are another big point in the game's favor as well.

Uncanny Valley is IUEO now and the subjective version has been split; cleaning up misuse and ZCE in the process

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: There are actually several different nations and factions that have sprung up in the wake of the apocalypse and humanity's fall from grace, all of which have unique outlooks and interesting backstories. There are also a ton of hints that many of these different factions don't really get along very well and may even be on the brink of outright war... and that's usually as far as their story goes, with any potential conflicts or international relations left up to the GM and the players to figure out. Honestly, Palladium could probably fill a dozen sourcebooks with just the lore and interactions between the various animal groups and surviving humans. Unfortunately, the game hasn't seen a new sourcebook since Mutants in Orbit in 1992 and with the tragic passing of series creator Erick Wujcik its highly unlikely that the game will see any official new content anytime soon.
* UncannyValley: Some of the more humanoid mutant variations can invoke this. Special mention goes to the artwork of a human man deformed to look like a tiny little beady-eyed alien creature with long fingers.

* ScrappyMechanic: The fact that the entire game world is made up of various Closed Circles severely limits the utility of about half of the later expansions, making them function more like single standalone [=RPGs=] rather than supplemental sourcebooks. This is already a big enough problem on its own, but the fact that most of these additional books are only around 50 pages each means that there just isn't enough material available to make them viable for long-term campaigns. Unsurprisingly, a lot of [=GMs=] choose to ignore or subvert this aspect of the setting to allow for a greater amount of player choice and freedom.

* NightmareFuel: The Empire of Humanity are such blatant nazi fascists that they almost make the Coalition States look sane by comparison! They enslave and exterminate animals like they're just stomping on bugs and engage in some pretty horrifying experiments such as the "Purtyville Children" incident. In an effort to help humanity repopulate and take back control of the planet they had several "pure" children cloned and indoctrinated from the moment they were born to serve as a fresh "perfect" generation. Everything was going great... until the children turned 7 and revealed both incredible psychic powers and a homicidal disdain for anything that wasn't one of them. Long story short... all the clone children are implied to have been exterminated and humankind came within inches of being wiped out completely.
** Way before the Fallout series graced the world with horrifically detailed 3D models of giant creepy crawlies like Cazadores and Bloodbugs ATB gave gamers access to dozens of nasty giant insects to use in its own post-apocalyptic setting. Many of said bugs are so big they can even be used as mounts or makeshift vehicles. The game also includes a note that the insects listed are only a small handful of those that can be commonly found in the world and that the GM should look up other species such as bugs that lay their eggs in living hosts or ones that suck blood. With a proper nature encyclopedia the possibilities for terrorizing players with a fear of insects are truly endless!
