'''The Results:''' With Chris gone, Chief Irons manages to get most of the officers at the RPD killed (the ones he hasn't killed himself), the fax detailing Chief Irons' corruption and involvement with Umbrella never reaches Chris and instead is just sitting there where Irons or an accomplice of his could easily intercept it (it's the fax that arrives just as Leon A / Claire A are leaving the STARS office with the Unicorn Medallion), and both Claire (in RE2) and Jill (in RE3) are left wondering where the heck he is as he's gone no-contact. This especially backfires with Claire as she comes to the now zombie infested Raccoon City in search of him, nearly gets killed by Chief Irons, and gets involved in more danger fighting against Umbrella while searching for Chris as per the events in Code Veronica.

** Chris manages to drop his gun in the opening sequence to the mansion. The only reason he's not stuck with a knife for most of the game is because Wesker and Jill have disappeared and Jill's fully loaded gun is left behind on the floor in the main hall. Accidentally dropping his gun isn't that bad, but Chris eventually encounters Wesker, who claims he doesn't know where Jill is and brushes off their earlier disappearances as the result of a monster attack. Would Jill, a trained member of an elite task force, simply have dropped her gun and run? Wesker should have been there with her as well, so how is it plausible that Jill was attacked while standing in a massive room, dropped her gun without firing a shot and Wesker also disappeared without bothering to collect it? There's no blood or signs of a fight, either. '''Why doesn't Chris realize this is suspicious and call Wesker out on the discrepancy?'''
** When they meet up, Rebecca doesn't bother to say anything to Chris about about the ordeal she just went through and all the monsters she's fought in Resident Evil Zero. It's not like she needs to mention Billy in order to describe the evidence of Umbrella being up to no good she's discovered, so why doesn't she bother to say anything? This is, of course, because RE Zero came out 8 months after the remake of the first game, but if you assume the events of RE Zero happened, it makes Rebecca's failure to mention anything really odd. The scenes where she cowers in fear of a hunter (it's possible to get the best ending in the [=PS1=] version without triggering this) and the scene in the remake where she stands in front of the Tyrant and needs to be rescued by Chris also feel unusual given she's already fought numerous enemies, including having killed a Tyrant by herself.
** Before the encounter with the Tyrant and Wesker it's possible to discover the slideshow and documents that show Wesker is working for Umbrella, and you can meet the character that's been thrown into the jail cell who confirms that Wesker is the traitor. Jill doesn't say anything to Barry when she meets up with him again, which is understandable if you've seen the scenes where he's acting suspicious, especially the scene in the guardhouse where you overhear him talking outside of dorm 202 that strongly hints that he's up to no good. She'd suspect he's working with Wesker. But Chris has no reason to suspect Rebecca, who's helped him out several times through the story up to this point. Why doesn't Chris bother to mention to fellow STARS member that Wesker's a traitor?
** In the Remake of [=RE1=], Chris can discover evidence that Wesker is the traitor, and in the final confrontation with Rebecca, he recognizes Wesker while he approaches him from behind. Why doesn't Chris immediately draw a gun at Wesker the moment he spots him? Wesker takes the chance to put a bullet in Rebecca! (At least in the [=PS1=] version, Wesker is already facing Chris when he comes around a corner, so Wesker more understandably catches Chris by surprise there.)

excuses at face value, and allows Wesker to wander off unchallenged. By not realizing Wesker's lying, Wesker goes free and later shoots Enrico dead.
**In
the Remake of [=RE1=], before his final confrontation with Wesker, Chris can discover evidence that points irrefutably to Wesker is being the traitor, traitor (the slideshow and Jill locked up telling him it's Wesker).\\
'''You'd Expect:''' Given the evidence, you'd think Chris would quite sensibly inform Rebecca to be careful of Wesker. And,
in the final confrontation with Rebecca, he recognizes Wesker while he approaches him from behind. Why doesn't Wesker, his back is turned to Chris, which would give Chris immediately (and Rebecca) ample time to draw a gun at Wesker their guns on Wesker.\\
'''Instead:''' Chris walks up to confront Wesker, with both he and Rebecca barehanded.\\

the moment he spots him? Wesker takes the chance to put a bullet in Rebecca! (At chest, and could have died if not for her bulletproof vest. At least in the [=PS1=] version, Wesker is already facing Chris when he comes around a corner, so Wesker more understandably catches Chris by surprise there.)there, and in Jill's far more sensible scenes in both the original and remake, Barry has his gun trained on her during the Wesker confrontations, denying Jill a chance to draw her gun.

** Given the sheer amount of suspicious behavior from Chief Irons that multiple officers and his secretary have noticed, how does Chris Redfield fail to notice how deep Irons' involvement with Umbrella is? As per his diary, he just up and leaves to Europe, doesn't bother to contact or make up an excuse with Claire. It's clear he suspects something's up as he's asked the FBI to look into Chief Irons, but Chris doesn't tell the FBI to contact him in Europe with the results of their investigation, and they instead send their fax detailing Chief Irons' corruption and involvement with Umbrella to the STARS office in the RPD, where Irons' or an accomplice of his could easily intercept it (it's the fax that arrives just as Leon A / Claire A are leaving the STARS office with the Unicorn Medallion).

RE 1 - Chris is generally a moron (which explains why Wesker's Report seems to suggest Jill's scenario is the canon one, Shinji Mikami's also said she's his fave character)
