* BrokenAesop: The parables towards racism in "True Colors" fall flat when one remembers that the problems in the episode (and the series as a whole) were caused by people of the koopa race, which is portrayed as AlwaysChaoticEvil. Not to mention the different-colored mushroom people revert to their original colors at the end anyway, making them all one "race" again.

-->'''Shimtex:''' ''(translated)'' The episode has everything from bribery, Nazi parades, assassinations, a very high voter turnout, and even fucking panzer attacks!

It starts out as a beach episode but soon takes a turn into a completley different plot, despite Princess Toadstool keeping her swimsuit on for the entire episode. Played straight in "Reign Storm," where Princess Toadstool and Toad take a vacation in Hawaii while King Koopa schemes to replace her with a robot duplicate.

Plot Hole is definition only.

* PlotHole: As one would expect from an episode involving TimeTravel, ''Toddler Terrors of Time Travel'' has plenty. To recap, Koopa and Kooky decide to go back in time to stop the Mario Bros from ever coming to the Mushroom Kingdom in the first place, allowing him to take over. Mario, Luigi and Toad follow them in order to stop their evil scheme.
** Despite the characters going back to the place and time where the bros first discovered the warp to the Mushroom Kingdom, the Mario and Luigi of the past never once show up in the episode, nor are they even hinted at.
** After being freed by Toad, future Mario and Luigi unclog the stopped up bathtub in oder to get back to the Mushroom Kingdom. [[GrandfatherParadox The Mushroom Kingdom that they only learned about in the first place because they took on said plumbing job in the past]]. And since they fixed the entire problem, the woman shouldn't have had need of another plumbing job for quite some time.
** How did Mario and Luigi return to the present despite the koopas taking the time machine with them?
** After returning to the present, the villains go and threaten the princess. Kooky, believing them to have succeeded in their plan, gloats that the Mario Bros can't help her. A comment that makes no sense for him to make, since if they actually rewrote history Toadstool should have no idea who Mario and Luigi are.

* OffModel: As with the Super Show, Mario and Luigi still appear off model with their overalls and shirts having the colors swapped, despite that the appearance they have today was used in the game this cartoon was based on. The show also frequently miscolors the Koopa Kids' heads or mixes up their sizes. There is an extremely severe case of this near the end "Mind Your Mummy, Mario" in which Hip and Hop are drawn with noticeably plump bodies and elongated snouts.

* DubNameChange: The writers made up their own names for the Koopalings, who were also called the Koopa Kids in this series, before the English version of [[AllThereInTheManual The Manual]] was finalized.[[note]]Until the game's North American release, the Koopalings originally didn't have any individual names. They were simply called "Ko Koopa" (translated in the North American version as "little koopa").[[/note]] That, and some of the references Nintendo ended up using would likely go over most kids' heads anyway.

** Koopa comes very close to winning in "Never Koop a Koopa". He has everyone captured and at the mercy of Bob-Ombs... and loses cause Cheatsy decided to cheat him.
** He comes as close in "Crimes R Us". The entire Mushroom Kingdom Treasury could have been Koopa's for the taking had it not been for Crimewave Clyde foiling the Koopa Kids' plan to destroy him and his subsequent HeelFaceTurn.
** In "Recycled Koopa," Koopa has invaded New York, and covered it with magic garbage which has turned most of the population into koopa zombies, including Mario. He only loses because it hadn't gotten to Luigi, who used the recycling machine he and Mario had built, which then gets rid of the mountains of garbage and turns everyone back to normal.
