The geckos reveal that Darkan, the mercenary who was working for Marmoo in ''An Army Of Frogs'' has abducted the adopted son of the elder, who's also a Kulipari. Darkan is bringing the Kulipari to the fortress Cardigal, which Jir and the Star Gazer interpret as the fulfilling of the Dream Walker prophecy. Darel, Jir, and the village leaders decide to go on a rescue mission to retrieve the young Kulipari before he can be used for nefarious gain, leaving Stinger and Darel's younger siblings to watch over the village for him in his absence.
