The Salesmen even [[ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill shoots the dog one more time afterwards for good measure]]. That's not even going into the sexual humor.

* LimitedAnimation: Compared to other animated films of the [[DarkAgeOfAnimation era]], the animation here is a lot stiffer, with fairly simplistic character designs and artwork.

* DarkAgeOfAnimation: Believed to have been made to [[FollowTheLeader follow the success]] of other adult animation films of TheSeventies such as WesternAnimation/FritzTheCat.

* HypocriticalHumor: Willard's female co-worker, who chews him out for sexually harrassing female co-workers, only does so because she's not one of them.

* BleachedUnderPants: Charles Swenson, the writer of ''Film/AnAmericanTailFievelGoesWest'' and producer/director for ''WesternAnimation/{{Rugrats}}'' and ''WesternAnimation/AaahhRealMonsters'' directed this film decades before the shows came to be. Many VHS releases for the film advertise this on the box.

* AnythingThatMoves: [[{{SubvertedTrope}} Subverted]] during an ImagineSpot Willard has in the beginning. After waking up in the morning, Willard imagines the potted plant at his window is the girl he is in love with at work, Susie. He then proceeds to [[{{ItMakesSenseInContext}} close the curtains and motor-boat the flowers.]]
* ADogNamedDog: See NoNameGiven.

* CompressedHair: After [[spoiler: The duck ]] removes her hat after the [[spoiler: GenderReveal]], she sports a puffy purple hairdo. Odd, considering earlier scenes showed [[spoiler: the duck]] without her hat on, and [[{{FridgeLogic}} clearly showing a lack of hair]].
* DarkAgeOfAnimation: Believed to have been made to [[{{FollowTheLeader}} follow the success]] of other adult animation films of TheSeventies such as [[{{WesternAnimation/FritzTheCat}} Fritz The Cat]].

* DepravedHomosexual: One pops up later in the film, and [[{{MakesJustAsMuchSenseInContext}} begins sucking on the duck's feet.]] He is credited as [[{{ValuesDissonance}} "Big Fag."]]

* {{Expy}}: The duck looks uncannily like [[{{WesternAnimation/DonaldDuck}} Donald Duck]]. Most likely intentional given the UndergroundComics influence of the film. The fact that the duck is later named [[spoiler: Daisy]] at the end of the film doesn't help matters much.

* ExtremeOmnivore: Near the end after the [[spoiler: GenderReveal]], the duck had eaten not only Willard's alarm clock, but the landlord's cat. In an earlier scene before, the duck had eaten the sex doll [[{{BuffySpeak}} thing]] Willard had produced from that strange contraption in his apartment.

* LimitedAnimation: Compared to other animated films of the [[{{DarkAgeOfAnimation}} era]], the animation here is a lot stiffer, with fairly simplistic character designs and artwork.

* RandomEventsPlot: The movie seems to run on this, as most of the plot is a simply tide together with a surreal road trip style narrative about the duck [[{{YouNeedToGetLaid}} trying to get Willard laid]]. Other than that, the film randomly transitions into [[{{OverlyLongGag}} overlong sex jokes]], [[{{ThrowItIn}} sequences that sound like the voice actors arguing with each other in character that the animators animated over]], and [[{{DerangedAnimation}} surreal animation sequences]].
* RefugeInVulgarity: As with most adult animated films of TheSeventies, this film aims to do this. Heck, in the beginning of the movie, the Car Salesman character literally [[{{ShootTheDog}} shoots a dog]], and later we see it limping away only to [[{{KilledOffscreen}} get hit by a car offscreen]]. ** The police officer character has his voice modeled after [[{{Creator/JohnWayne}} John Wayne]], and the [[{{FreudWasRight}} phallic]] tank that shoots him sounds like [[{{Creator/HumphreyBogart}} Humphrey Bogart]].
** A [[{{Creator/EastmanKodak}} Kodak]] camera pops up during one of the Duck's weird sequences with the named changed to [[{{Pun}} "Koduk"]].
** The same sequence also features the heads of [[{{Music/JohnLennon}} John]] and [[{{Music/YokoOno}} Yoko]], the latter of which the duck tells to [[{{BigShutUp}} shut up]] while going on a strange tirade.
** One of the [[ImagineSpot imagine spots]] Willard has involves him turning into [[Film/KingKong King Kong]].
** Willard has a [[{{WesternAnimation/MickeyMouse}} Mickey Mouse]] alarm clock in his room.
** The Mexican Official at one point is picked up by the officer, shown his badge, then exclaims the famous [[{{Film/TheTreasureOfTheSierraMadre}} "Stinking badges"]] quote.

Catching the bandwagon of Creator/RalphBakshi's ''WesternAnimation/FritzTheCat'', it's very influenced by UndergroundComics.

Don't confuse this with Bobby London's comic ''Dirty Duck''. It has nothing to do with it. London hates this movie for this reason, as this movie has caused confusion by leading fans of London's comic to believe this movie was an adaptation of his work (which it is not), and also fans of ''Fritz the Cat'' to accuse London of ripping off ''Fritz the Cat''.

Catching the bandwagon of Creator/RalphBakshi's ''WesternAnimation/FritzTheCat'', it's very influenced by UndergroundComics.

* FanDisservice: Since it's a comedy, its hard to tell if some of it is intentional or not. Some if not all the sex and nudity scenes can come off as unpleasant to watch at times.
