In this one, Barbie (voice of KellySheridan) plays Merliah, a champion surfer who suddenly sprouts pink hair during a championship...then immediately after meets Zuma, a talking sparkly pink dolphin (voice of TabithaStGermain). Oh, and she learns that she's the half-mermaid daughter of Queen Calissa (NicoleOliver), ruler of Oceana. Which means she can breathe underwater at least.

Several years later, there was a sequel, which saw KellySheridan return to the Barbie role after a three-movie absence. This one replaces Kayla and Xylie with TheRival Kylie (AshleighBall, affecting an absolutely ''terrible'' Australian accent). This time around, Eris escapes from her confinement to take over the Changing of the Tides, a ceremony that grants mermaids the ability to make Merillia.
