Three women from Kemet-Ra, the most powerful country in the world, and at war with the Outerlands, find themselves in enemy territory for different reasons. Shanti is a nurse and, secretly, an assassin. Horrified with her own country's politics, she moves to the Outerlands to found a small hospital in a village called Threestonesville to assist the local population. Blitz, her partner, works with Shanti at the hospital. Sekhmet, an AWOL officer and a war criminal, befriends both women. A love triangle, coupled with inevitable drama but also humor, ensues.

The story takes place on Earth from a parallel universe in the not-too-distant future. The characters live in the Outerlands, a huge territory ravaged by war. Kemet-Ra, the most powerful country in the world, officially follows a non-interventionist policy, claiming support to the Outerlands only to prevent terrorism from infiltrating the Country, while actually using criminal tactics to pursue its own expansion.

Shanti is an assassin. Although she pursues only untouchable criminals, she hides her secret from everyone, including her partner. Since Blitz is a pacifist and hates violence with a passion, Shanti believes that Blitz would not understand her motivations. However, Blitz grows more and more suspicious of Shanti's movements. As her so-called "business trips" become more frequent, Blitz asks Sekhmet to follow Shanti in one of these trips. Sekhmet accepts, finds out Shanti's secret, and even helps take down her target. But shortly thereafter, Shanti receives a new objective: Sekhmet.

A confrontation begins: as Sekhmet runs away, Shanti tries to convince her to surrender. Cornered, Sekhmet confesses to Shanti her love and then forces Shanti to shoot her. Shanti is able to save her, but she must now confront her own feelings for both Blitz and Sekhmet.

As Ancient Egypt is the most influential culture on this Earth, actual Egyptian hieroglyphs are used extensively, for example, in signs (i.e., "Exit" is written both in Roman characters and in Middle-Egyptian hieroglyphs; and the general symbol for "health" is the Ankh). The author has studied Middle Egyptian and always seeks out the best translation for any concept/word appearing in the comic.
