* HornyDevils: Defied. There is an organization in universe called Succubi and Incubi for Non-Sexwork that advocates to give succubi and incubi equal opportunity working conditions in jobs that do not involve sex.

* AnAxToGrind: Horace's chosen weapon is a huge, dwarven-made ax.

* ActionGirl: Brella and Kossak.

* OurElvesAreBetter: Played with. Half-drow protagonist Horace is fat and has no special powers beyond night vision, something that all half-drow have due to their elven parent. He also is a bit more down-to-earth due to being raised by a dwarf. The Skinny Gay Half-Elf Squad is a group of gay male half-elves who harass Horace about his weight because he fails to live up to this trope. They, and health nut elves, think they are superior because they have a lower body fat percentage than Horace, who in-universe gets mocked because of his weight.
* OurWerewolvesAreDifferent: In Raised By Dwarves, werewolves are a race evolved from the now-extinct dire wolves. This has resulted in humanoids (in their demi-human form) with lupine ears, teeth, tail, and eyes (although werewolves see in the same color spectrum as most humanoids). Werewolves have extremely dense bone and muscle, with healthy adult werewolves weighing four hundred pounds on average. They have two transformed forms: An eight-foot-tall half-human half-wolf form that distributes the four hundred pounds into musculature and bone that fits its form (induced by the full moon), and a larger-than-average wolf form with the same extremely dense muscle and bone which a werewolf can transform into at will. In this comic, werewolves also retain their canine instincts. Kossak in particular likes chasing after balls and sticks and gnawing on chew toys or bones. * Acrofatic: Horace. He's far more agile than his weight would make people think he is.

* BadassNormal: Horace. While he's a half-drow, he is fat and has no special powers.

* BigEater: Horace is one. In his first appearance, his date tells him that he eats a lot. Horace snaps that ten bowls of popcorn and five "Archmage Ann's" soft pretzels isn't a lot...and Brella tells her kids that Dwarfy's is the only buffet they haven't gotten kicked out of.
