* DemonicSpiders: Every once in a while, a Mook will show up and give the fighters a challenge...only for them to turn out to be a warm-up for the actual Big Bad.

* GoddamnedBats: The seemingly endless armies of androids that come after our heroes qualify as this, since they serve little purpose other than to distract them.

"Ed Edd 'n' Eddy Z" is a flash animated series created by [=SSJ5G=]. The series is a {{cross over}} between the worlds of ''WesternAnimation/EdEddNEddy'', ''Franchise/SonicTheHedgehog'' and a style and plot that bears great similarity to ''Anime/DragonballZ'', in which the Eds find out that they're Saiyans and meet with two cousins named Drew and Corey. Through training, and coming to terms with their true heritage, their strength, speed, and stamina become much greater and soon learn to use their powers to become protectors of the world.

Although some may think it an odd idea to mix a show like Ed Edd 'n' Eddy with Dragon Ball Z, it ultimately works as the show manages to combine Ed Edd 'n' Eddy's [[BreakingTheFourthWall Fourth Wall breaking banter]] and Dragon Ball Z's epic battles and moments, to get a series with a cult following with over 50 episodes, multiple fan-made specials, and one feature movie.

* CurbStompBattle: Most of the more intense fights in the series have multiple fighters going after one character. ** Ed is The Fighter. He is physically, the strongest of the 3, and has the hardest hitting strikes but they are usually much more slower than the rest of the Eds.
** Double D is The Mage. He has the greatest manipulation of Ki, being the one with the largest variety of techniques but is physically the weakest of the 3.
** Eddy is The Thief. He's the quickest of all 3 of them and usually employs HitAndRunTactics against his opponents. Sonic remarks in Episode 13 that Eddy's speed is one-tenth of his, considering that was early in the series, who knows how fast he can truly go.

Ironically enough, although he has the same sprites and hair as Vegeta, Zach is nearly the opposite of him in terms of personality. With after only battle, becomes fast friends with the Eds.

* Foreshadowing: Played with. Sometimes it's subtly given; other times, the foreshadowing is ''literally'' flashing in the viewer's face.
