[[WMG: Diamond enchanted Arctic.]]
Arctic's personality and relationship with Foeslayer when they first meet are vastly different from the majority of "Darkstalker." At the end of "Runaway" we can see shades of his more bitter self after he kills the [=IceWing=] guards and escapes the Ice Kingdom, even growling at Foeslayer when she expresses concern about the state of his soul. Since we know how controlling Queen Diamond was of her son, and that she had no regard for the [=IceWing=] law of one enchantment per animus, could she have enchanted Arctic to become mean and resentful in the hopes that Foeslayer would eventually get sick of him and give him back?

[[WMG: The other dragonets named Glory.]]
The Talons of Peace never cared about Glory, so why would they have given her such a nice name? They probably didn't name her at all. Instead, the other dragonets took it upon themselves to research [=RainWing=] names, and they gave Glory her name.

[[WMG: A new animus will be born]]
If I remember correctly, jeroba ii's spell was worded to depower current animus dragons, not future ones.

[[WMG: "[[WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity Animus insanity]]" isn't real; it's all natural causes]]
The most notorious cases of animus insanity have completely non-magical reasons to flip their shit. Albatross's magic awakened in an incredibly gruesome and traumatic experience that his sister held over his head for the rest of their lives - he finally snaps and starts killing people when she taunts him about how he'll ''never'' be free of her because he can never make up for what he did to Sapphire. Darkstalker was raised [[AMindIsATerribleThingToRead constantly reading his parents' minds]], which were full of their fighting over him and Whiteout, and also only got noticeably ''evil'' after his mother was "killed" by the [=IceWings=]. Anemone's kind of a brat, but she's also the result of an [[HeirClubForMen Heir Club for Women]] situation that's resulted in literally ''dozens'' of spare princes. Animus users tend to be more jerkish as they get older and use their magic more.

None of those situations need to involve animus magic eating the user's soul to make sense. They can all be explained by "normal" cases of TheDogBitesBack, and the incredible power of animus magic corrupting as even non-magical power does. If you can do the sorts of things we see animus dragons do, why would you bother treating normal dragons as equals? (This is also an alternate explanation for why the [=IceWings=] are essentially free of animus insanity. With such limits on their use of their power, [=IceWing=] animuses don't get corrupted by it because they never have the chance to use it selfishly or personally. One major work "for the good of the tribe" isn't going to make [=IceWing=] animuses see themselves as ''that'' different from the average dragon, or give them that much power - there's something cool named after you, but it's controlled by the queen, not you.)
