** One problem with this hypothesis: Acting is not the only way to get on the toons. Another is politics. If you take over the world, you get broadcast on Fox Noise Channel and Most Socialist Network on Basic Cable multiple times a day. Now you start to see the motivation of Brain.

WMG: Judge Doom was ComicBook/PlasticMan
With the Golden Age of Comics drawing to a close by 1947, and superheroes waning in popularity (aside from Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman), Plastic Man grew bitter and jealous over the continued popularity of Toons, and returned to his criminal origins. Using his superpowers, and the thief skills he'd once used as Eel O Brien, he robbed the First Bano of Toontown (killing Eddie's brother in the process), used the money to set himself up as Judge Doom, and embarked on a plan to not only become incredibly wealthy, but also destroy Toontown completely. His vulnerability to the Dip wasn't just because of his status as a cartoon, but because the mixture dissolved his plastic flesh.

Some subversive animes like Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion, LightNovel/HaruhiSuzumiya and Manga/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica tend to break these tropes up but they still insist on good degree of coolness or appeal in their work in order to be alongside the ones that they were inspired by. For example, Creator/HideakiAnno didn't settle on the final title of his work due it's religional symbolism, but due how cool it sounded..
