If the depression WMG is not true, there could be other explanations for his behaviours: watching TV is just a hobby and he has other hobbies as well, the reason why he's described as struggling in school despite having previously won academic awards is because his current teacher has misconceptions that his previous teachers didn't (as evidenced by him flunking a test for calling humans omnivores), his big appetite is because he's a teenager (puberty often leads to a bigger appetite), his irritability is just him getting frustrated with how the vegans treat him, and he actually does have friends; we just don't see them (he mentions having friends in the strip where Plausibel [[TrojanVeggies tricks them into eating something that isn't chicken]], for example). So, if this theory is correct, he does have low self-esteem, but it's not severe enough to lead to depression, or at least not yet anyway.
However, when Brie/Plausibell sees these traits that are actually pretty normal for a teenage boy in his position, she twists them into thinking they mean he's bad: since she never watches TV but he does, she sees that as a sign of laziness, ignoring his other, more active hobbies. Then, when he flunked the test, she saw him as stupid because she agreed with the teacher that humans were herbivores. She views his big appetite as bad because she doesn't realise that she ate just as much as him ten years ago when she was his age and/or thinks that because he includes meat in what he eats that he's deliberately trying to eat as much meat as possible, which she sees as bad. Because she feels that she's in the right, she sees his frustration with her and the other vegans as nothing more than irrational rage.

It's common for siblings to put up a [[BitchInSheepsClothing different face]] in front of their parents, while treating their siblings poorly. So, I have no doubt [[BigBrotherBully Plausibell]] and [[TheBabyOfTheBunch Cherry]] would do that to [[ChewToy Shawn]]. He probably has a good feeling his mother wouldn't believe him because Plausibell can be such a good actress, especially since she got everyone to take her word that she was being bullied Cuntons she would no doubt put on the [[CrocodileTears water works]] and act offended by her little brother would accuse her of such stuff. As for Cherry, it is chalked up to her [[CorruptionOfAMinor influence by her older sister]] and as a result sees her own brother as immoral by not being vegan thus needs to be preached at in order to convert.

Given how [[ChewToy Shawn]] is treated in the comic, one could say everything that is mentioned about Cuntons is just to make her look worse when she is in fact nicer than she appears. She sometimes acts the way she is described in her profile is because she wants to scare radical vegans by dressing up as the embodiment of all their stereotypical views on meat eaters. And those rumors about her hating wolves are just that... rumours, and she is actually just a trophy hunter who owns a lot of wolf furs,which would of tick off a person like [[BitchInSheepsClothing Brie]]. She actually doesn't hate vegans, but only the intolerant kind like Brie and her friend's types that shame others for being meat eaters and makes it her mission to troll them.
