* Also, the deer skull is a pop culture thing. I know that doesn't rule it out but if we assume the author did their research then he wouldn't be depicted that way. It would be strange if they classified them as half fey to, we know theres non-fey supernatural creatures in this world

* Will O'the Wisp's comments in the college arc suggests Alice simply has a soul that appeals to fire aligned fey for whatever reason, not fey as a whole.

Notice how fascinated he was when Chise explained that the "coldness" he was feeling was loneliness. It's possible that he's actually interested in learning what it means to be a human being. * Not sure about this one. While it is true that not all Sleigh Beggy can see the neighbors, Will o' Wisp is the only fae that hangs around her, unlike Chise who is almost always flocked by something.

[[WMG: Joseph will join the witches.witches, or at least be invited.]]

Marielle tried recruiting Chise, since they need a new member to have an odd number of witches in the covenant. The author went out of her way to show that men can be witches, and Marielle's colleagues said that she was probably tired of being the youngest one there, and that's why she chose Chise. She will probably try the same with Joseph and realize too late that he actually isn't a kid. Besides, look at the cape Joseph wears at the flashbacks and compare it to the one Phyllis wears, they are the same (in the manga the "bells" have different colors, but the colors chosen for the anime aren't always right, Joel describes Redcurrant as having silver hair, but she is blonde in the anime). Also, the witches' meetings occur in "parallel dimensions" (I don't remember the actual word used in the manga), and Joseph tried running away from Chise through one, which was COMPLETELY DESERTED save for them and Marielle. It's possible that he had a relative in a covenant (his mother?) which originated Marielle's, or maybe is even the same one, inherited the cape and learnt the tricks and paths used by the witches. It can't be a coincidence that he opened the exact same path as Marielle.

Marielle. And there's a minor evidence that I'm not entirelly convinced proves anything, but Marielle said that witches can shapeshift and becomes a bull. Joseph does some minor shapeshifting, mainly on his arm, which is different from the permanent mutations other soccerers do or the use of artifacts like Chise's pelt.

With the evidence, I would actually be surprised if he didn't.

Wendigo. More likely his appearance is based off the Mari Lwyd.

During the encounter in the cemetery in Volume 3 after Will O'the Wisp teleported Elias and the rest away from Josef the Fae was shown purched on Alice's unwilling head. Elias is staring at this when he said he might have an idea why Josef targeted those two.

No doubt wanting to help his wife and daughter, Yuuki saught any help he could from the mystical world and the black cat-like creature that was watching the family probably lead him and Fumiki to the College. The eventual reunion between father and daughter will of course be as messy as all get out due to what happened to Chika.

\nThis seems to be a popular theory, as his deer-skull head is similar to the way Wendigo are often portrayed, he is first found in a freezing cold forest, and it fits well with his [[IAmAHumanitarian man-eating]] past. Wendigos are also created from people who engage in cannibalism, which may explain Elias' status as only a partial fairy.

Judging by Rahab's comments on [[http://www.mangahere.co/manga/mahou_tsukai_no_yome/c016/16.html this page]], a war is brewing between Russia, Norway and Sweden. The use of Russia, rather than the older name of Muscovy, along with a previous reference to [[http://www.mangahere.co/manga/mahou_tsukai_no_yome/c016/6.html Prussia]], puts the date at least in the late 1500s. The largest conflict that fits the time period involving Sweden, Norway (at the time controlled by Denmark) and Russia is the Great Northern War, lasting from 1700 to 1721. Linden also asks if the yet to be named Elias is from England, perhaps indicating that the Act of Union that formed Britain hasn't happened yet, putting the date before 1707. This makes the likeliest date for Elias' birth sometime in the very late 1600s.

The [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sami_people Sami]] are the indigenous people of northern Europe, their homeland covering most of northern Scandinavia. They herd reindeer as a way of life and are known for being a mystical people, with a tradition of shamans that goes back centuries. Between Lindel's reindeer herding, reference to himself as a [[http://www.mangahere.co/manga/mahou_tsukai_no_yome/c016/24.html shaman]], clothes and pointed boots, he fits the bill perfectly.
* Expect that Sami people (and reindeer) don't really live on Iceland. It had been nice though.
** He moved to Iceland to look after the dragons. He was definitely born in mainland Scandinavia.
